Meh, took a better one as a Warwickshire grizzlie quite a few years ago during the lunch break of a county game. Jumped up in the air, one handed catch in front of the pavillion. Beat that.  :P

New Road in the sunshine is a great venue.. used to go a lot. Curtis, Hick, Moody, Rhodes, Newport, Botham, Radford etc... a great few years in the late 80's - early 90's.

The second XI of a club I used to play for got bowled out for 6. The quality of player at the club has massively gone downhill and a lot of the team were made up of 'have a go' cricketers but they should have been better than that. Worse still, they all saw it as a bit of a joke and didn't see the magnitude of such a defeat.

An interesting comment from Root after yesterday's play (and his duck) from this match report:

It was noticeable here that Root batted at No. 4. While the identity of England's Test openers is becoming clearer - it looks as if Sam Robson will have first opportunity to build a partnership with Alastair Cook - the No. 3 position is still causing consternation. With Ian Bell and Root both batting at No. 4 for their counties - Root confirmed after play that it would be his preferred position "in an ideal world" for England - there may yet be room for a return for the likes of Nick Compton or Michael Carberry.

Compton bats at 3 for Somerset, and made a ton at Durham last week. He's similar to Trott, in so much as he's a nurdler, and doesn't tend to make his runs quickly. Worth giving him a go at 3, I'd say. Bell at 4 and Root at 5 wouldn't be a bad call either.

I don't think they will go back to compton. Ballance, Taylor?
