theunderstudy
He needed that desperately. As did we. Moeen just dropped by Cummins.... less of those risks lads. They won't drop many more.

We need a big lead here to try and panic the Aussies. All it takes is their top 5 being out for 150 in the second innings and we can push to win. I think we won't have a big lead at all tbh as we'll keep taking a lot of risks
PaulC
Crawley has played well but rode his luck. But great platform set by him and Mo for the middle order to do some damage.
Rodders
It's pretty good for batting and boundaries are coming quickly. We still need a couple of good partnerships, but we've still got plenty of batting to come, we are being positive and we are going to play some high risk cricket, we might lose another wicket or two in the next hour, but if we score at 6 an over we'll be coming up to their score sometime after tea. Ultimately with D4 likely a wash out, we have to push it, and now is the time to make hay, either side of tea.

Tired seamers and they will have to go back to head at some point

sheepyvillian
As English batsman go, seeing Crawley in full flow is very reminiscent of David Gower.

Rodders
Credit where it's due, this has been excellent for Crawley, has had a few boundary inside edges, but mostly after he put in the hard work, by being actually disciplined in the morning session. His SR was only 40 or 50 until he reached about 30 and now it's over 100. Really well done.
PaulC
Crawley has his flaws but I love his intent. Just the innings we needed today from him.

theunderstudy
Probably his best innings this - he's been streaky as hell but played some fantastic shots
StefanAVFC Posted July 20, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted July 20, 2023 This is hilarious. Cummins' captaincy is all over the place. The definition of reactive.
Milfner
Really don't hope we declare when level. Just get to 300 and put the hammer down (even more). This is pitch is an absolute road currently.

Rodders
Yeah, we could have a lead of maybe a hundred even by close of play tonight, bat well tomorrow, have a lead of 200+ and then get into the Aussies when we can.
