If England got in and batted first could easily be the other way round here. 5 match series I think they should take it in turns to pick who bats or fields first rather than a coin toss. He had one good innings in the summer, apart from that he was awful IMO. andym Posted December 7, 2013 Share Posted December 7, 2013 15 off 80 balls and then he plays a shot like that. i don't like this slow scoring rate, which seems to be a team trend. all it does is allow the bowler to get settled into a line and length and puts the pressure on the batsmen - then they get impatient and end up doing a stupid shot like root. if you are going to score at a snails pace you have to stay in and get a big score. too many of our players hang around for ages for 20 or 30 odd and then get out.
