thetrees
That was a waste of time. With the requirements of Sky and the ECB hanging on to gate receipts, Cook can't afford to be sentimental as well. Harden up Alistair!

PaulC
Watson is out too many times lbw. He should have worked that out by now.
WhatAboutTheFinish
Man the Aussies are poor! I've got a feeling that if England picked the previous 5 posters in this thread as their attack they would still get bowled out!
Milfner
Graeme Swann is a bit good, isn't he? 32-2.

Worst way to get out not playing a shot.
PaulC
Michael Clarke, the only world class batsman in their side should not be batting at 5. He should take more responsibility.

PaulC
No 5, but they have 3 left handers in the top 4. Surely with Swann you would want to get one right hander in, Swann is very good, a big spinner but unlike Ajmal he only turns it one way so you can leave everything outside offstump and play everything else. These Aussies seem brainless.

villarule123 Posted July 21, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted July 21, 2013 Just re-watched Swanny's Ashes diary from the last series in Aus, it was great and I hope he does it again this year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnh0KnTwAos
DiegoD
Michael Clarke, the only world class batsman in their side should not be batting at 5. He should take more responsibility. This has been a big debate within Australian cricket for a few years now. With the team struggling to find top order batsmen and Clarke often coming in early it seems it would make sense to move him up the order and maybe shield one of the younger guys coming through a bit more. But then the few times he did move up he failed. Its clearly a mental thing with him moving up the order but given his role in the team I definitely agree he needs to take more responsibility. West
Aussies are dire on such spin friendly pitches but credit to England, they are the best at planning and executing in world cricket.
