omariqy
I never really watched Nitro every week like I watched Raw as you could only get it on TNT on cable. Might start watching it.
Dr_Pangloss
WCW is worth watching for Kimberley Page alone, she is without a doubt the hottest piece of ass to grace wrestling, ever.
Wainy316
First hour of Nitro 9-10 then switch to Raw 10-12. That was my Friday, religiously.
DCJonah
I've decided to start RAW from January 98 and Nitro from January 1996.
Stevo985 Posted May 8, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted May 8, 2016 I'm enjoying the Network. I wish it was a bit better at stringing the episodes together though. They should do it chronologically so you can just cycle through by date.

Stevo985 Posted May 8, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted May 8, 2016 I rarely watched Nitro. By the time I got really into the WWF I always saw WCW as a poor impersonation of WWF. No idea if I was right with that assumption!
sexbelowsound
There was something really special about WCW for a couple of years. The Monday Night Wars is a must watch documentary for anybody. Wrestling fan or not.

I found a series called Monday Night Wars that focuses on a different element each episode. is that it? Or is there a stand alone doc?

They started producing a series of them which I think is the one that you have seen. This one was like a 2 hour documentary that was a broader overview of it and came before the current series.
Stevo985 Posted May 8, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted May 8, 2016 I'll track it down. Watching a 1996 Raw now. McMahon's commentary is awful. It's like video game commentary.

sexbelowsound
I haven't watched Wrestling for years but it really was quality entertainment in the late 90's. I remember how excited me and my mates got for Summerslam '96. Those weeks of build up with AC/DC - Highway to Hell on the adverts was amazing. I actually couldn't imagine having to carry on my daily task as if it hadn't happened like Hunter did there.. Second watching that I realise what WWE is missing and it's not the raucous audience though that would help, it's the constant camera cuts to make the action look every more intense and fast paced. I have watched that match more times than I can remember and it still gets me excited as there are some segments in that match where the camera angle changes like 9 times in less than 10 seconds and it helps so much. Current WWE has the one fixed TV cam and then a handful of action cams that are more there for instant replays or for when the match goes out of the ring, here they were cutting to angles to ramp up excitement and I miss that..
