That's part of the story. Its accepted as known. You seem to be suggesting there's something else to it though? I’m suggesting there’s a lot of scope for there to be something else to it. There’s 6 years where we have no clue what happened to this boy between vanishing on a family holiday in Spain and being picked up in the French pyrenees having been walking for days to find help. The instant dismissal that nothing to see is very odd to me too.

I don't think anyone is thinking 'oh kids back, that's nice, jet him get on with his life' like the cops are going to drop him off at his nans place, brush their hands and get a coffee at a job well done and never think about him again. They're going to talk to him about the time he's been missing and, pointedly, try to work out where his mom and grandad are as they're suspected of a crime. That's just taken as read, that's going to happen. You seem to be suggesting in his time missing that something else has been going on, something else nefarious. And maybe there has been. But it's an odd leap to take when the story is 'parent without guardianship kidnapped child' and that's going to be the foundation of the investigation and there's nothing else to suggest other things happened - he wasn't found with an arm missing or covered in blood or naked with a ball gag and leg irons. The authorities will want to know what happened to him in the meantime but that's mostly with a view to working out what happened with the mother and grandad, see if there are further charges they could bring and most importantly, work out where they are. It just seems odd to see what we know and go 'nah, dodgy, there's more shit here'. So I wondered what you think the other stuff is, because I can't see what there is to build off that isn't pulled from the ether whole cloth. Boy has been god only knows where doing god only knows what for 6 years as part of a cult he was kidnapped too when he was 11. Nobody seems to know where his mother is. It’s not remotely close to normal so there’s high potential for it to become a really concerning story. It’s also weird because you’re seemingly agreeing but also disagreeing at the same time purely to be argumentative. If Maddie McCann appeared tomorrow in Germany walking the streets of the Alps in what appears to be good health and some German bloke saying she used to pop in from time to time to do a bit of cleaning for some food would you dismiss that as probably innocent too? The police will be talking with him. They will try to ascertain what had been going on for the last 6 years. In the process of doing so they might discover other shit has happened, but they won't be doing what you have, which is to immediately assume there's other shit. You don't do that in an investigation because you end up chasing dragons and losing the fundamental threads, coming to wrong conclusions and making mistakes. Until there's a reason to think otherwise, the story is a parental kidnap case and they'll be looking in the first instance for where the perpetrators are and other potential related crimes. That might be different if they had reason to believe there's more to it - if they'd run off to a known child abuse cult they'd be chasing that angle - but there doesn't appear to be anything like that to this, to our knowledge. Its obviously a different situation to McCann shit. If Maddie suddenly appeared there's lots of questions raised as the story is obviously different - she didn't run off with her parents, she completely vanished, the circumstances of her disappearance are immediately much more nefarious than parental kidnap. Of course that won't happen because Maddie is sadly a skeleton.

mjmooney Posted December 28, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted December 28, 2023 Quote Firefighters called to an apparent blaze at Blackpool Tower said it was actually orange netting that was seen. Witnesses spotted "flames" coming from a metal section near the top of the famous landmark at about 14:15 GMT. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) deployed six fire engines and a "rope rescue" team. Staff were evacuated from the building but LFRS said a specialist team gained access to the area and confirmed there was no fire. BBC

Hours that story ran as it actually being a fire.
sne
The Danish queen has abdicated and left the throne to her son Frederik. First time in 500 years that this happened in Denmark. No idea if we can still loan Januzaj now.
sidcow Posted January 3 VT Supporter Share Posted January 3 This car which got stuck under the bridge and the guy climbed the bridge to rescue them is a ford in Hall Green at the bottom of my parents road. I first assumed it was more dick heads in a 4 x 4 thinking they're indestructible but it was a woman in a tiny city car. What the **** goes through your tiny mind trying to go through a ford after 2 months of non stop rain. It must have looked like a raging torrent. Have people totally lacked the capacity to think anymore?

colhint
I'm not sure that's the case. As I understand those involved with the drama have been recompensed. It's just after it was aired loads more have come forward.

I'm not sure that's fully correct either, have they been fully recompensed for the interest on the money, being convicted of a crime they did not commit, imprisoned for a crime etc. They've received a compensation package but they may be due more
