I went a few times when I worked for the Queen. Never went there in summer -though I have been way further north in summer and the non-nighttime is as weird as the hardly any daytime is in winter. Also the cold is really cold not like here. Didn’t like that bit. Used the US base food and drink places quite a bit, to save money so got the best of both worlds there. People, landscape, towns and harbours are all awesome. I was dead lucky.

Jesus how stupids do you have to be to be shit at putting out a candle, not telling The Sun journo to eff off and then write in to one of the few papers that didn't carry your original story to try and set in all off again Scared to throw water on it because of molten wax. What??? The headline made me laugh, reading the article made me fear for the human race

I'd guess momentum - by the time it's noticed it was getting blown off alignment, it's so heavy that the lag to steering to counter it renders that action "too late" - in a narrow channel that's all it would take, I guess?
