Vojskovoda
Nice, thanks for doing this! Good to see we're not having to soley rely on Gabby getting the goals anymore with other players starting to step up and score goals. Milner's doing pretty well on the assists too. RMB
Disappointing to see our centre backs and even our second choice centre backs have scored more than any central midfield player this year. Not even one goal coming from any where in the middle so far.
Hanky
Young should have four assists because didn't he take both corners against Chelsea?
kurtsimonw
Young should have four assists because didn't he take both corners against Chelsea? One was glanced on by Lampard, I'm not sure if it should count as Ash's assist still or not.
Rocafella
An official assist is being the last person on the ball before the goalscorer smacks it into the net. Thus, passing for someone to be fouled for a penalty is not an assist. It is on Fantasy league, but that is only created so people can get more points for their gameday. However, should Sidwell's miserable shot against the post count as an assist for James Milner? I don't think so!

I am using official Premier League stats. This means that Reo Coker is getting the assist when he was taken down by Gerrard. The same applies for Petrov, who was taken down by Belhadj against Pompey. CarewsEyebrowDesigner
As someone said it does show the lack of goals/assists coming from our central midfielders. Still, good to see one of our own leading the charts!

May-Z
Taking a positive spin on this, considering a lot a people think we don't create many chances, we've only failed to score once this season- on the first day. Obviously it doesn't matter if we concede one very game but still, a positive is a positive!

Stevo985 Posted November 9, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted November 9, 2009 If Lampards header counts as an assist against Chelsea, why doesn't Jussi get one for our first against Bolton? (That's not a dig, DeepDish, just curious)
JMilnereatsnails
Lampard hasn't got a assist though, it is just that Ash does not. You don't particulary get an assist for every goal scored you know. Good work from the OP though.
