I used to have a pair of these: I also had pairs of red, pink, lavender, and camouflage Chuck Taylors back when I was in high school. I would often wear different colors on each foot.. My taste now is luke or penguin trainer/shoe footwear. Fun fact - a close mate of mine is Creative Director at Converse. I still wear them. In fact I'm going to get some white Chuck hi-tops for my hols. If you feel like your style has changed why not switch to Jack Purcell's? They're a bit more grown up. Chuck Taylors are always fashionable with someone in the world. Classics. Converse in general are totally out of fashion, though, you just don't see much modern Converse gear. Good enough to lick. they look alright, but I'd no more buy shoes from Hugo Boss (or any fashion brand for that matter) than I would buy aftershave from my shoemaker. They're invariably made with crap synthetic soles and the cheapest leather they can get their hands on, by unskilled and lowly paid blokes in India. But they still charge a premium price to put their shitty logo on the heel. My latest pair are these. Handmade 20 minutes up the road from me, and with an occasional resoling they'll last a lifetime. Can't beat a pair of shoes made from any one of a dozen or so manufacturers in and around Northamptonshire, we genuinely have the best shoemakers in the world - as long as you stick to the ones that have kept the manufacturing in Britain. Which makes it all the more horrifying when you see the amount of men walking around in plastic, square-toed school shoes that have never seen a tin of polish in their life. I'll go a week without posting, then post non stop for a week and then I'll post sporadically here and there for a week. Its rather odd. I can't think of any reason for it though. Some people on this site can't go an hour without posting during the waking hours. I do wonder how they keep their jobs. I feel like I post on this site a hell of a lot, too much in fact, but my post count is only 8k. I don't post during the working day - don't have time! Plus i'd get the sack!
