CarewsEyebrowDesigner
As for the drink/sober debate, i find it easier to pull when i'm sober as im a complete and utter rocket polisher when im drunk.

Milfner
as a non drinker myself. Apart from 3/4 times a year. I don't drink either, I don't feel the need to. We are similar ages, right? It's my 18th on the 28th (yes, Final day), but I don't know whether to drink or not. I can't actually remember the last time I had a session! But the main reason for me not drinking has been proven by two situations. 1) My girlfriend spending 2 hours in the toilet getting sick on her birthday 2) On NYE, two of my mates were in bed at half past midnight as they had got sick everywhere. My mates all say that you have a better time when pissed, but then, who's had the better night not making a clearing in the woods of themselves, getting sick everywhere and I can have just as a good time without it? Also, I save a shed load of money too.
bickster Posted February 2, 2010 Moderator Share Posted February 2, 2010 Without wishing to resort to the dreaded red ink.................Dan (thats ED to the rest of you), come on can't you just stop being Evil for once? And Trim, I know he has that effect on people, (I know it because its not the first forum I've modded that Evil Dan has been a member of (we go way back to when he was in nappies and we were both on the OS), We've even played WoW together with Nayson, limpid, D1, Juju etc.... Oh I dunno what I was going to say but .............just get along or something! And thats an order.......or something
trimandson
If you can drink sensibly mate it's never a problem, it can be quite enjoyable, but learn your limits early because chucking on a bellyful of beer isn't pleasant.

If that's at me... I do know my limits, alcohol just doesn't interest me, that's all. I shall save it for Uni.

Also, I save a shed load of money too. Exactly, I don't enjoy the taste of most stuff aswell, I usually have 4/5 drinks of something I actually enjoy, like a Wkd or whatever and then I'm in a really good mood, like just tipsy but more confident and just generally enjoy it. Without having to over-spend, get so drunk I can't remember anything or become a dickhead. I first drank 2 years ago, and went all out had absolutely loads and was sick 5 times in my mates house. I've drank 5 times since then, all of them, never had more than 4/5 apart from on holiday this summer, I had a fair bit but still more happy drunk than "wtf happend last night". I don't get it, one of my best mate's an absolute cock when he's had too much and starts fights despite being really nice guy and he spends shit loads buying people drinks cause he's so fecked. only downpoint is all mates going on hols this year to malia for 7 days, 18 of em, but i've rejected, simply for reason i don't drink that much and some of the things that will happen there is stupid but o well. Have a good birthday by the way, lack of drink is a winner, apart from the odd occasion, new year etc..
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I first drank when i was 13, downhill ever since. Oh i long for the days of 3 litre bottles of cider, 3 quid a pop followed by a maccie d's. Now it's at least 50 quid a night
BOF Posted February 2, 2010 Moderator Share Posted February 2, 2010 "Don't know whether to drink or not". It's not this monumental decision. It's not a life-long commitment that you can't go back on. Social drinking in moderation is no big deal :? Drinking to excess is what your mates and g/f did. It's not fun, it's not cool and it is stupid. As for saving money. I don't know about over there but over here it's a lot more expensive to drink soft drinks in a bar than it is to drink alcohol so unless you're not going to socialise at all, the money argument doesn't stack up. And half the bloody year is going away aswell, and I don't really fancy going away for a week with a shit load of people that I don't particulary like. I reckon I will go away with my girlfriend for a few days instead. Hmmmmm. Well that's got me thinking! Have a good birthday by the way Cheers

AVFC-Prideofbrum
Bicks > Most of my mates are spending upto £50-60 a weekend or more at times, if you don't drink, I doubt you go over £10! You say soft drinks, but who the hell buys say 10 glasses of orange juice throughout a night! and exactly. Yeah, pretty much all my group, girls are going zante and then boys are going Malia, Simply not for me. You'll enjoy your girlfriends company alot more, i'm sure! see i'd personally enjoy going to mom's house in spain for 2/3 days playing golf and tennis and just generally relaxing, bit boring but I like to relax and do nothing alot of the time.
