LondonLax
Anybody been to Bratislava? I didnt know where it was until i looked it up the capital of Slovakia Going for a stag do in May whats it like? watch this film "Hostel" before you go: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450278/  Oh crap i did not know hostel was there jesus christ I think were staying in a hostel as well something like 20 euro a night Im **** And gareth very funny lol yes, you are a dead man walking. 8) i'm sure its not really like the film... well, i'm not sure, but if you come back alive, then maybe its not. What date do you get back? We'll look out for you to post on VT after that date. The films were shot in Cesky Krumlov, in the south of the Czech Republic near the Austrian border. I know this because they were filming the second one whilst I was on holiday there, highly recommended I have been to Bratislava also. My tip would be to go to the Fashion TV night club. tonyh29
think I've made my views on Bratislava before but If I only had one small suitcase nuke and a was given a choice between Paris or Bratislava ...it would go to Bratislava ( though of course I'd put it as close to the French embassy as I could)

BOF Posted March 5, 2012 Moderator Share Posted March 5, 2012 My ongoing competition with Tony over who hates France/Paris/the French more (I believe I'm winning) makes me more curious about quite how bad Bratislava is. I can only imagine Tony was gang-buggered by a collection of trannies and his farts haven't made a noise since.

tonyh29
I can only imagine Tony was gang-buggered by a collection of trannies and his farts haven't made a noise since. drove in from Austria so had a "foreign " plate car ... managed to successfully navigate our way to the hotel avoiding the prostitutes that litter the motorway ( day visitors from Austria is good business for them it appears) and was within a few hundred yards of our hotel when we got blue flashing lights and Slovakia's finest had spotted the foreign plate and came in for the easy money ... Apparently we'd broken the law and if we were Slovakian we would go to prison , but of course we could as foreigners pay a fine instead .. never did find out what this heinous crime was , maybe it's against the law in Slovakia to not pick-up a prostitute whilst on the motorway ?? managed to haggle the fine down and get our passports back in the end ... plod then said they would escort us to our hotel , which despite being right in front of us they assured us wasn't the right one ..and drove us miles out of town into nowhere before flashing their lights and speeding off back in town and checked in , went into a burger type bar as i was starving , got called an English rocket polisher about 12 times by various locals once I opened my mouth to order .. few of the pubs wouldn't serve us , and it was just a general bad vibe about the place check out the next morning and the hotel tried to charge us for damage to the room and for all manor of drinks and dinner that we didn't have and then on top of that they cloned my credit card and went on a mad splurge on it ( about £7k in total if i recall , not that I had to pay it ) it was about 2000 I went so 12 years on who knows maybe Bratislava has changed but I'm not in any great hurry to find out ... saying that on the drive back to Austria a few weeks later we routed to avoid Bratislava and spent the night out of town in a small village B&B type place .. there was a village wedding going on and they invited us to join them for the eating , drinking and dancing and we had a great time My ongoing competition with Tony over who hates France/Paris/the French more (I believe I'm winning) Only because i actually gave them points for cheating the Irish out the World cup :winkold:

mjmooney Posted March 5, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted March 5, 2012 And that's another thing my power cut (see the Piss You Off thread) knackered. One of the very few times I decided to watch rugby on TV - France-Ireland yesterday - I got as far as half time, thoroughly enjoying it, and settling down with a beer when everything went ptoof! Didn't even find out the result until this morning.
