coda
My parents had the council out to fumigate a wasp nest. The woman reckoned they were German wasps which are smaller than the UK variety. Bloody foreigners coming over here taking our insect jobs.

Is Spiderage a seasonal thing? I believe mild weather followed by occasional showers tends to drive them indoors. Hence Autumn tends to be when spids of doom begin their assault. Here's a tip to keep the bastards at bay though; wash your walls with citronella, then pour some down each of the plugs in your bathroom and kitchen (and anywhere else in the house). Spiders (and some insects) have their taste buds in their feet, and can't stand the stuff.
Risso
That's a great idea! Having the entire house smelling of pesticide is obviously preferable to dealing with the odd eight-legged invader....
