theunderstudy
Nah its all about the crunchiness of the bread/toast.
mjmooney Posted December 21, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted December 21, 2010 The way my missus makes toast, as soon as it's tepid. It's barely even coloured when she makes it. Me, I like it nearly - but not quite - burned.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I find a lot of women do that. You can also tell a lot about a lady if she butters the whole way to the crust or not.
Shillzz
The Fattys in my office barely warm their bread before plying it with massive amounts of butter. The result? A soggy bread and butter soup. Disgusting practice.

wiggyrichard
I like it when the butter pools on the toast! Also toast has to be eaten once buttered, only ever make 1 slice of warm bread at a time.

soprano
I like to leave my toast to go cold before buttering it so I can then see my teeth marks in the butter. I also spread the marmite thick enough that I can see teeth marks. That should open up the marmite debate.

theunderstudy
Mike, that is exactly how I like my toast! Good man! And wiggy, spot on with the butter pooling a bit.
soprano
I've dunked croissants into coffee like a lot of people so although I haven't done it with toast there can't be much difference.
Shillzz
This is undoubtedly straying dangerously towards the realms of anal, but it does seem like the best way forward. Half cook your toast, give it a couple of minutes to cool, then finish it off in the toaster. It works a bit like when Italians make biscotti, so it goes nice and crunchy.
