Demitri_C
For me, Bale is genuinely world class if you define the term as him being able to walk into any of those sides. world class really?? no offence bri he has dont nothing consistently to be considered world class. getting a hat trick against inte doesnt make you world class. he is a great talent no doubt. but has done nothing major in preimer league consitently and internationally way too early to determine if he is world class
kurtsimonw
He was very good in the CL group stages, both games against Inter. But he was very poor in the Premier League which makes it all the more baffling that he won player of the year. Didn't he get 1 assist or something? I would do better than that playing on the wing! coda
Good old 'arry making a few extra quid for himself during the summer. What an inspiration.
villaajax
It's a great way for him to talk about other team's players without directly tapping them up.
villa4europe
geoff shreeves just asked arry about his record at OT, arry gave a snide snobby remark about how its not his job to look at records that for other people with more time to do headline of his sun column today? "ive lost every prem game at manu" prick
RichardCanning
So Friedel selected ahead of Gomes. Wonder what Glaston makes of that, unless of course Friedel has miraculously improved over the summer to be better than Gomes
BrummieVillan
He didn't need to miraculously improve, he just needed to keep hold of the ball rather than treat it like prison soap.
villa4europe
to be fair he's conceeded 3 but still probably been spurs best player
The_Rev
Agreed. This could have been 5 or 6 if it wasnt for Friedel. He looks a better keeper than the bloke in goals for Manchester United tonight too.
TrentVilla Posted August 22, 2011 Moderator Share Posted August 22, 2011 Enjoy that coach trip back down to London Arry, I bet Modric is at home packing as I type.
villa4europe
i think they need more than just 1 striker, defoe crouch and pav all pretty uninspiring, adebayor on loan (although in theory city can afford to keep him in the knowledge that it really weakens spurs) plus then some £20m johnny foreigner but now they have no CL can they get rossi or hernandez? doubt it
Hanky
Friedel played pretty well from the part that I saw. Definitely an upgrade for them on Gomes but then that isn't too hard. Had no chance with the last two goals (didn't see the first).
The_Rev
He didnt have much of a chance with the first either.
LondonLax
I don't think we will see Glaston on here for a while actually after he was so adamant Modric would not be sold. It's not looking so good on that front now Redknapp is saying his head is not in it anymore.
TrentVilla Posted August 22, 2011 Moderator Share Posted August 22, 2011 Glaston is adamant about lots of things, then when it becomes clear he is wrong he vanishes a while then comes back when he thinks people have forgotten.
BrummieVillan
Don't want to sound bitter or anything but everyone from the outside knew they wouldn't retain CL footy and that their star players would start seeking elsewhere. Spurs will soon deflate back to being on our and Evertons level.
Zatman
not surprised Friedel played well, He always has a great game vs United in his Blackburn days
