wiganvillain
Look. Be sensible. We have security at VP, right? And the security guys have guard dogs? Guard dogs HAVE to have a supply of dog food. Of COURSE I'd have him back. Oh Yes
Jon
Nope. Onwards and upwards for us now, IMO. never look back.

Davies4England
No it would be a step backwards and would got totally against our future plan.
HongKongVillan Posted August 13, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted August 13, 2009 Now at this moment Yes, simply I personally do not think we have a suitable replacement for him at this moment in time.
bannedfromHandV
I'd take him back right now considering we still haven't **** replaced him. Young ---Barry---Petrov---Milner vs Downing ---- Ash Young-----Milner(Albrighton) NRC(Delph)-----Petrov I like the options we have now much more. rc_villa1972
He is a great player, did well for us, helped us to get where we are.....but let bygones be bygones and I think we are both better off apart. We played some superb stuff in the peace cup and that was down to playing the up and coming talent. We would not have had that opportunity if Barry was still here. Milfner
yes, but i think we are quite capable of coping without him.

sonic_bouma
nah...... we'll move on without him and become a better team..... on his day he was pure class.... but i think if we will manage to find a more mobile creative CM (maybe Delph) then we will see how much he hindered us
JugHead
Time to move on in everyone's interest. A great player but we were limited in what we did, at least we now know where we stand & what needs to be done. It should bring out a different approach for the Villa which hopefully is a better, more flexible & creative streak!
rjw63
Who cares.... seriously. Would I take him back right now? Yes we haven't replaced him and the season starts in two days. Especially as we haven't replaced Laursen either. Would I take him back in a few years? Couldn't care less about that question and proposition. Blimey, I agree with Mads! 8)
paulanddonya
Not gonna read though the lot but I bet there is a lot like me. If he had gone to Liverpool or Arsenal, and it didn't work out - then I'd say come back. However, he has shown just where his heart lies, and it is in a little brown leather thing he keeps in his pocket. So basically, I hope he rots in hell and As a side note, I hope Carrick did enough last night to show Capello that he is a better option than Barry. I hope his world falls apart - and I mean it ! P3te
no, but not for the reason suggested with the no option him and petrov stunted us last season. despite being an excellent player for us (and despite some around here seemingly forgetting that), the two of them in the middle didnt really work for us
Tazzy
yes, ill collect him myself (if i dont lose my license) a couple of times hes threw his dummy out the pram, but hes always performed for us and always gave all on the pitch, maybe this was because he wanted to impress other manager, but nevertheless, he has been a vital part in the team for so many yrs! Tomaszk
I wonder how many people might change their mind if we don't start the season like a train...
thefeet1980
He was great for us, at times superb. I'll not forgive him for the way he acted last summer but this has nothing to do with me not wanting him back. We don't need him.
wenno
No, I'm looking forward to seeing how we play without him. He values money over his career, so he can f*** off!
