They were brilliant; absolutely stole the day to be honest. There were a lot of t shirts around the festival (and I may have bought one as well…).

They did go on a uk tour back in December I think but they are doing a couple of big shows in Manchester and London in February next year which are pretty big venues.

Yeah but Manchester and London doesn't count as a tour really 🙂

Grandson had his picture taken with the singer of Unpeople at Bloodstock. What with getting the drummer out of billy talents stick at Download seems gullible rock musicians fall for the novelty of an 8 year old.

I think I just ruined the night of the band I'm here to see, they apparently hadn't realised their big ArcTanGent slot tomorrow has them clashing with Meshuggah, and a lot of that crowd will be going to Meshuggah by default. 😬

Ha ha! Without wishing to be contrary, I have tickets for the 10th and the 12th.

In a couple of rooms I’ve not been in before so looking forward to it.

Just about to set off to The End of the Road festival with my 18yr old lad.

our last huzzah together before he heads off to Uni in a few weeks time!

tomorrow is properly stacked for us and we’ll be dashing between stages!

These are the stage times (not my tweet)

Conflict - Gryff Rhys or House of All? HoA would be my choice, I think

My lad is desperate to see Gruff Rhys so no doubt we’ll be watching him (and BRJ beforehand)

pleasantly surprised to see Baxter Dury starting so late which means will also unexpectedly catch him too!

Big Special on Saturday night is our priority but also desperate to see Sprints, King Hannah and Ty Segall (plus Hawley, Idles and Cornelius)

It’s a really decent and diverse line up this year but for some reason there’s so many clashes on Friday 😰

It’s the Glastoisation of festivals, to make you think about going anyway regardless of the headline acts because… well you never know. Rumour, rumour, rumour, buy, buy, buy…

The bloke who runs End of the Road was being interviewed the other day, clearly a music fan, knows his stuff and who he likes etc but he also sounds like he lives in his bedroom and his mum still cooks his tea

He picked a song for them to play and he picked a Camera Obscura song.

So is three Sex Pistols better than two Oasis? :D

My mates got two tickets and is insistent I accompany him

Imagine you weren’t looking for an answer but here’s one anyway. Without Lydon I can’t go Pistols as better. He’s kind of important 😉 Regardless of one’s opinion of the band, the two Gallaghers are the faces of Oasis. Frank Carter, not so much. At best it’s a push

Oh I’m not paying,  no way would I pay to see them. It'll be amusingly bad tbh but three original members just coincided with a bit of a debate here about what constitutes the original band

I’ve literally heard of one act on that entire schedule (Idles)

Is it  a festival for hipsters or something ?

No, you are just very narrow in your knowledge. If you haven't heard of Gryff Rees (Super Furries), Richard Hawley (Longpigs), Latitia Sadier (Stereolab), and Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral) your knowledge of music is very limited being as all have been in rather well known bands and have had extensive solo careers since leaving those bands.

Slowdive are one of the original shoegaze bands

Yo La Tengo have been going forever and have an extensive back catalogue, last album was superb

Sleater Kinney?

You really claiming you've never heard of Baxter Dury?

If you haven't heard of Ty Segall you've never read many music posts here :D

It's also got an awful lot of up and coming, potentially much bigger bands like English teacher and Big Special. Warrington Runcorn New Town Development Plan is the current king of ambient electronica. House of All are all ex-members of different periods of The Fall and are ace.

Its a really good line up. I'd have conflicts of scheduling all over the place
