sellyoakvilla
who & who? listen to some real music people... the indie-rock scene died 15 years ago. 8) I wouldn't say either of Doves or Elbow were indie
PaulTheVillan
Both not heavy enough at all for my taste.
bickster Posted April 22, 2009 Author Moderator Share Posted April 22, 2009 I voted Elbow, just I do think both bands fail slightly for me, neither have ever fully fulfilled their potential. I like both bands but they've never fully climbed nto the top tier of my affections
CastleBromVilla
The Doves The Last Broadcast and Some Cities, both top albums. Not hand chance to listen to Kingdom of Rust yet. Pounding of their first album is my favourite track they've done.

Sit_Down_Potato_Head
The only song I know (despite buying the Seldom Seen Kid) is Elbow's version of Destiny's Child's Independent Woman (as seen on www.rathergood.com). As for Doves, they always seem to prop up the bill at Glastonbury, but I can't remember anything they've done. Along with the likes of Mansun, all seem like bands who made tracks filed under "filler" rather than "killer" on you C90 compilation.
pamparius
Given the choice, i'd prefer my own death rattle to either of em
rjw63
Big fan of them both, but at the minute it's Elbow, purely because of the masterpiece that it Seldom Seen Kid Just listened to Seldom Seen Kid - "Grounds For Divorce" is **** brilliant. fantastic tune. Unfortunately the rest of the album, for me, is a bit ploddy
