Stevo985 Posted May 4, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted May 4, 2010 Saw that at the cinema. Thought it was good, but not great. i was a little disappointed to be honest, I was expecting great things. Maybe that was the problem?
choffer Posted May 4, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted May 4, 2010 Fantastic film - have watched this several times and have lent it to a number of people since I first saw it - all of whom have enjoyed it very much. Just a lovely film - wish I could find more like this. (Thankfully this isn't the "Phunnay" thread so I won't be resorting to defenders in wheelie bins - see page 43). Pelle
I think it's pretty cool that a swedish film is that highly regarded. Saw Law abiding citizen yesterday. Hang me, but I think it was rather good. Far from a master piece, but good enough.
villa4europe
Anyone read the let the right 1 in book? I still dont see why they showed her scarry vagina, and Swedish cinema will be bought back down with the seemingly rushed played with fire/hornets nest
Wainy316
Finally got round to seeing The Departed the other day. I was very very impressed.
mjmooney Posted May 4, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted May 4, 2010 Anyone read the let the right 1 in book? I still dont see why they showed her scarry vaginaSPOILER: Wasn't a vagina. "She" was a boy who'd been castrated.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
It's not really a spoiler Eli says from the off about the gender. 'Would you still like me if i wasn't a girl' The book is brilliant though, the part when he goes to his dads is beautifully wrote. The movie is better though, for once! I think the film added an atmosphere that a book just can't, for obvious reasons.
