omariqy
Went to see Life of Pi today. Excellent family film to watch. Probably one of two or three films that really works in 3d. Visuals are stunning and theyve kept to the book really well.
AVFCforever1991
Could someone tell me what we thought of Prometheus, or direct me to a page in this thread? Eight out of ten from me. An extra point for the, um, surgery scene. Saw it today for the first time on Blu-Ray, and have to say the special effects were very impressive. But was not overly convinced on the film itself. One of the stupid parts, when that guy tries to pet that Alien thing like its a puppy, I mean really? They were all acting like a bunch of children on a school trip. Overall, Great special effects. But the Plot and Character Dialogue let it down big time. This scene was the best part of the Film: Edited December 26, 2012 by AVFCforever1991
CrackpotForeigner
I'm afraid you are quite wrong. The surgery scene was clearly the best part of the film Agree the characters weren't too well-developed, and yeah some of them did carry on like a bunch of schoolkids, but thought the plot was decent enough. CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Avengers was grand. Essentially expensive fluff but in the best possible way. Even Captain America was bearable.
chrisp65
So, a little question for the film buffs: I've enjoyed Drive, French Connection (+II), Bullit, Seven Ups and Vanishing Point, Casino, Goodfellas but I don't particularly like schoolboyish Tarantino films. So, blokeish tastes. Loving the whole 70's americana / big car thing at the moment. I've even re-watched American Grafitti. Is there anything obvious that I'm missing that I should be seeing? cheers

Brumerican
Jack Reacher was decent. It's hardly a Chindie-esque critique but there you go. I liked it.
