LancsVillan Posted November 1, 2011 Moderator Share Posted November 1, 2011 Bunked off work this afternoon and took my lad to see Tin Tin probably the best piece of animation ever made and probably the best 3-D on a film ever made , though that may be down to Woking Cinema upgrading to these rather swanky looking mirrored 3-D glasses Still not a fan of 3D , the glasses are a pain and kinda restrict your peripheral visions but more 3D like Tin Tin and i may be converted Saw it yday and it was very enjoyable. 3d wad worth it too, it was good to see a film in 3d that didn't include bits simply to use 3d and have no effect on the story. Quite amusing at times too. Watched Half Nelson last night and we thought it was cack, had the makings of a belter but simply fizzled out.

leemond2008
I dunno about it I think it should just be left alone, remakes prequels reboots sequels etc etc no one has an original idea in their head any more
GarethRDR
I dunno, some films have scope and the tale of the ill-fated Norwegian base is a pretty good concept if it's executed well. Hell, Carpenter even drew up a script for the sequel proper years ago, got Kurt Russell and Keith David to agree to reprise their roles too (their age-gap was going to be put down to frostbite) but the studio never went for it. Plus, The Thing itself is half-remake of "The Thing From Another World", half-adaptation of "Who Goes There?". And last (but by no means least)... Mary Elizabeth Winstead. WIBBLE.
briggaman
Oh yes. You know a woman is special when she makes a 'Final Destination' film watchable... On another note, I went to see 'Tintin' on Friday and enjoyed it. Nothing spectacular on the whole but visually it certainly was. I'm in the camp that think it was better on paper though, as opposed to the big screen. I just think it lacked that bit of magic and came across a bit too thick and fast on the screen. Certainly worth a watch if you like animated films, yet it's by no means a classic. I was hoping for slightly more from it in all honesty. Went to see 'The Ides of March' although my mates don't know, as I'm off to see it again with them next week. Gosling was fantastic as always and Clooney is good in it too. Good intelligent thriller and well worth a watch. One of the better films of the year in my opinion and I can see why possible Oscar nods are being mentioned. I'll probably go and see 'In Time' on Friday, even though a lot of reviews seem to be giving it low scores. The concept looks good to me though and I'll give it a chance. I expect that it will at least provide a little bit of good entertainment. Another film with a decent concept which could be worth a watch is It comes out next year and looks interesting. Pelle
Have anyone seen Contagious? Hm, maybe it should be Contation? edit - wrong film. Contagion? Absolutely. Didn't get the title right at all. Anyway, intrigued by this one. Seems to be a good actor line-up too.
