villakram
Watched the new Lion King and liked it. Not as warm as the cartoon as they haven't really figured out how to get the animal faces to emote, but much much better than all the bad things I'd heard... and @Chindie a page back. Beyonce is bollox though! Edited November 24, 2019 by villakram

choffer Posted November 25, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted November 25, 2019 For any of you who might be wondering, Frozen 2 is every bit as good* as the first one. *very deliberate use of wording.
villa4europe
by that do you mean shite but with 2 catchy songs? and to be fair do you want to build a snowman is more a catchy line I like "kids" films but frozen is a one and done for me, its really poor in general

Designer1 Posted November 26, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted November 26, 2019 This is a very interesting (true life) story, and for me is the best thing Van Sant has put his name to since Milk. Featuring another cracking performance from Phoenix and great supporting roles for Rooney Mara and Jonah Hill (showing his versatility again). It’s on Amazon Prime if anyone fancies a watch.

LakotaDakota
Well the irishman is...... Long & feels long...... Good but was ready for it to be done 2 hours in. De Niro's eyes are quite distracting all the way through. Edited November 28, 2019 by LakotaDakota

Same Obvious comparison to casino and good fellas, not as good as either, feels painfully slow at times It has a lot of quality to it such as the aging stuff and the look and feel of it but at the same time I just didn't find it incredibly interesting if I'm honest
Ingram85
Jumanji remake - really rather good tbh, the original is a childhood classic and I was worried this might piss all over it but it really surprised me with how much it respected the original with a few nods here and there while doing it's own thing. Oh and Karen Gillan has never looked hotter. 10/10 WB until it fell off. Edited November 30, 2019 by Ingram85
Rodders
Yeah I loved that film, was a total surprise at the cinema, Jack Black was just so perfectly cast for his role. Knives Out - joyfully self aware whodunit, and not in a smarmy way, has fun with the Agatha Christie set up and Craigs accent playing the Poirot type role is deliciously outlandish, loved it. Will probably see it again with the family over Christmas if it's still in cinemas but I suspect it will do well.

Watched this last week. Really enjoyed it. Comic and sad, in parts, but ultimately tremendously inspiring. Phoenix was brilliant yet again.
