Chindie Posted October 26, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted October 26, 2015 Hmmmm. Trying to reserve judgement until I've seen the full performance but my heart and head are telling me it will be plop. It all points to it being a complete car crash. I really like Leto, but **** me he's gonna have to do some work to get around that awful look they've created for him. It's nailed on to be shit. The source isn't very good, the design of every character is awful, the trailer was rubbish. The design of the Joker is particularly bad, as is Harley. They're trying to do something different whilst being 'edgy' and cool and missing by a mile because it's so obvious they're trying too hardhard and getting away from the basic tenents of the character. Harley just looks like a Suicide Girl model for instance. I think it's perfectly possible for Warner Bros to get a DCCU going, but so far it really looks like it's stillborn. Batman v Superman could be a good movie, I don't think it'll be more than that and the main hope with it is that Affleck is a good Batman, but that's not a nailed on success either...

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I enjoyed The Guest a lot, even if it loses its way in the final act. I would have preferred more slow burning tension to what we got.

Chindie Posted October 26, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted October 26, 2015 Crimson Peak.Del Toro does a Gothic horror romance. Looks gorgeous, 3 great central performances, the plot itself isn't exactly groundbreaking but it almost doesn't matter. It has intense dread throughout and cloying, sickly atmosphere underneath the gloss, and builds to a classic shrieking finale.Worth a watch.

Meath_Villan
Watching "From Hell".In real life, if Mary Kelly looked like how Heather Graham does in the film, she would have been far too busy at work to have had the time to get done in by Saucy Jack.oh well guess I'm not watching that movie now

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Isn't From Hell based on a comic/graphic novel? If it is, is that worth reading? I remember the film being enjoyable but a bit meh.

I remember the film being enjoyable but a bit meh.Yeah, based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore. Not read it, so can't comment. If it's anything like the film it'll play fast and loose with the facts (not that it's meant to be accurate). I dare say like all the other adaptations of his stuff, Moore most likely distances himself from the film.Yeah the film is a bit "meh" literally got it on as I can't sleep. Zatman
back from SPECTRE, very meh. The subplot is the best part of the whole movie and felt more like a generic action movie than a Bond. As for bad guy I have to say I dont get the hype over Christophe Waltz, good in Inglorious Basterds but not seen anything else that impressed me

tonyh29
Back from Bond ... Definitely a case of style over substance at times but it moves along well and I think it takes second spot after Casino Royale in the Craig era ...It plays out more like a stylish Spy film than an action film at times and it's worked for the last two films but I think the franchise needs to move away from Mendes for the next one .... It doesn't need to be Bourne but equally it doesn't need to be Tinker , Tailor ,Soldier , Spy either Waltz wins the best Bond villain award by some margin , was never really a fan but you can see just what a good actor he is in this filmi still struggle with Wishaw as Q , as I can only ever picture Paddington Bear whenever I hear him speak but as the geek he does offer some nice relief to the films as wellI hope DC returns for another Bond , but a part of me also thinks he has left the role at the right time and the right ending Edited October 27, 2015 by tonyh29
