Brumerican
Finally got round to watching an obscure classic called 'Goodfellas'. You won't have heard of any of the cast but it is a fantastic film! Highly recommended for those who may not have had the pleasure. I can only assume this post was aimed at me (You won't have heard of any of the cast). I have heard of lots of them, so there.
The_Rev
Goodfellas is right up there with The Godfather 1 & 2 when it comes to great mob movies.
villa4europe
It's better IMO...and I think that's an opinion that's becoming more widespread, not sure if it's because of the films ageing (although godfather easily stands the test) or if it's because it's the hipster opinion to have, to me I think Pesci wins it for goodfellas, Tommy is that good a character, and the godfather feels long at times whereas goodfellas doesn't I know at least 1 person on here has said they prefer casino over all of them, another great film, another great Pesci character (with another great ending) but it's just shy of that level
Zatman
They are all brilliant all 4 of them but the thing with Godfather is they came out so close together and really long films as well and that was extremely rare for back then. Now we are used to directors cutting movies in half or preparing sequels to stuff down the line. also it launched 2 of the greatest actors of all times onto the mainstream and also made movies like Goodfellas possible to be made
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I'll be honest, I don't think Goodfellas is as good as people make it out to be. I think it's an excellently directed film with a few great scenes, but I could happily never watch it again. Godfather I & II, on the other hand, I could watch again and again because I would see something new each time.
Mark Albrighton Posted August 21, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted August 21, 2015 I love both Godfather I & II, however Goodfellas wins it for me. Maybe it's the more earthy tone and the based on a true story aspect that make it stand out. All the cast are great and the voiceover by Liotta is perfect and adds a real rhythm to the film (strangely, when Scorsese tried the same trick with De Niro & Pesci in Casino, I found it jarring). The Goodfellas soundtrack is stunning too.
chrisp65
Sharknado 3 I only caught the last 15 minutes on some distant cable channel last night. But it looked really good. I won't spoil it for those of you that are still on 1 or 2, but the way they get back home and the 'special event' that happens on the way back home is very moving. Xela
new hope for this scene alone ..... surely Aunt and Uncle have just been murdered . . . stands, sighs and looks into the distance. Why wasn't he bawling? I think the scene was before his Aunt and Uncle got murdered. However he did take their demise very well. He was more upset when Kenobi died and he barely knew him!

I think he's heading to London from Birmingham? Not sure I got the vibe he's a Villa fan, I'm pretty sure they win the football game for a start! The_Rev
SPOILERS! He's driving from Brum to London, I'm pretty sure he went past Junction 4 of the M6 right at the start, I recognised it because I drive past it pretty much every day. He's wearing a wristband which appears to be claret and blue too.
Designer1 Posted August 21, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted August 21, 2015 Just watched it again for the umpteenth time. Still as bloody brilliant as ever "One beat, two beat three beat, sugar beat. Four beat, five beat, six beat, wheat-a-beat. Seven beat, eight beat, nine beat, heartbeat. My heartbeat, my heart is beating for you."

He is also, unfortunately, 100% nose. But it would make sense regardless.
