Designer1 Posted February 10, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted February 10, 2015 It's very much a musical, unless a woman usually walks around at night in a street singing OK well if you genuinely regard Once as a musical then you can limit my hate for what you know I regard as a musical. As in when a scene, for no normal cinematic reason, breaks into some choreographed explosion of naff. I get pins and needles in my face, I let out an involuntary scream, search frantically for the remote control and probably punch the nearest living thing to me. So, not a fan of Sunshine on Leith then Bri?

mjmooney Posted February 10, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted February 10, 2015 I saw the trailer for Sunshine on Leith, and that was the moment I realised I was capable of violent homicide.

Nicho
Interstellar is average. Enjoyable enough it lost me when the tesseract stuff happened. One of those films where I just feel It could have been so much more.

BOF Posted February 10, 2015 Moderator Share Posted February 10, 2015 The Rock was Michael Bay? But, but, it's actually okay.I've never seen it, but it can still be explained with the "If you throw enough shit at the wall, some of it will stick". Sooner or later he's going to make something that isn't complete vomit.

The Rock is both utter crap and brilliance (to be disputed) at the same time. Nicholas Cage at his best (to be disputed). Add into that Con Air, Face/Off, Broken Arrow, Armageddon & Bad Boys it was a golden era of American Cinema (to be disputed) Got a friend at uni to watch all of these over a couple of day period as he had seen none of them. Unfortunately he did not view them with the same nostalgic enjoyment that myself and 4 other housemates did.
Zatman
Bad Boys and The Rock are his best films and though controversial Armageddon is a watchable film if you dont take it too serious less said about The Island the better
Chindie Posted February 10, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted February 10, 2015 The Rock is genuinely a great 90s action movie. I can't think of a thing I'd change about it, even Nic Cage. That it's made by Michael Bay continues to be I've of life's great mysteries. In not even sure the 'enough shit' approach works, because in every element it's perfectly fine good action movie stuff. Even the characters are unanimously likable and there's none of Bay's patented pornographic leer - despite having a risqué scene.
