I think it felt like a step back into that version of Bond because they shoehorned in stuff from the old Bonds due to the anniversary.

I just thought it wasn't really a Bond film and was a bit meh. Casino Royale was far better.

The Purge Anarchy

Better than the purge 1 but still shit i noticed Omar was in it for the whole of 3 minutes i wonder how much he got paid

I really like the main character he should play the punisher or something real badass

Well enough to buy me a 3 bed semi new build.

Really enjoyed Edge of tomorrow . Surprisingly alot more comedy than I was expecting.

Likewise. It's genuinely good fun, I even let them off with the ending. It is a bit forgettable though, in other words I had forgotten it until you mentioned it there.

It's a solid 7/10, not very challenging but inoffensive and I can't imagine many not having a good time with it.

On Bond I agree about Casino Royale been the best Ive seen. As for Skyfall I think it was OK nothing more and thought Bardem was too cartoonish and the ending was a lot like Home Alone

I'd agree with that Mr Knight.

What I liked about Both QofS and Casino Royale was that they were, for me at least, semi-realistic. They didn't seem too implausible or cartoonish (not just plot-wise, but also the action scenes). For me, Skyfall took Bond back to the more 'childish', ridiculous adventures of Roger Moore.

I've never really enjoyed a single James bond film. Its all just so silly.

I think that's why Casino Royale is the best of them.

Die Another Day came before it, which was the silliest and shittiest Bond film of all. The absolute peak of the gadget wave, where the film was more about the fancy pen or car or sunglasses or whatever Bond had than the actual storyline or film.

Casino Royale was the exact opposite. Rebooted, stripped back to just being about Bond. Darker and grittier, little to no gadgets, just a **** good film about a secret agent.

Skyfall was very good. But it was a clear and intentional step back towards the silly gadget filled world of Bond.

ANd don't get me wrong, there is a place for that. I still like Bond films of the past.

I just think Casino Royale was a really refreshing break from the norm for Bond.

a this  from me

Casino Royale ,

apart from the car revival scene

was pretty much a perfect film

I didn't mind Q of S and would put it above Skyfall

tbf to Skyfall I thought it was pants when I saw it at the cinema , the second viewing on DVD it was actually better but I don't know i'd give it a third viewing , whereas CR i've probably seen close on 10 times now and still never get bored of it

I don't think i'll ever get the attraction of James Bond movies.

I've seen plenty of them (particularly when I was a kid) and even then they mostly left me uninterested.

I gave Casino Royale a go when that came out as i'm a fan of Daniel Craig and i'd read that it was an attempt at a grittier Bond, but I thought it was tiresome. A couple of decent set pieces jammed either side of a Sky Poker tournament.

Not for me I suppose :)

QofS was rubbish IMO, action scene followed by action scene with a chase scene thrown in every now and then to break it up, my biggest problem with it was they actually laid down some pretty interesting story arcs but then didnt develop them at all, QofS as a group could have played out like SPECTRE but they didnt even try, was a shame

few people are right on here IMO bond is meant to be a little bit silly with a cartoonish villain, with some decent gadgets a great car great women and great one liners, casino royale is a very good film and was a perfect reboot, but that's then done, ease him back in to where he should be without tipping the balance back to the brosnan films, as it is now they are too focused on the edgy gritty bond, skyfall was also a very good film but that was too focused on shoe horning in nostalgia (although i do think it captured another essence of bond in the locations, the macau, japan island and scotland stuff is all beautifully shot)

bring back the volcano lair...

The Bourne films >>>>>>>>>>>> Bond

The new Bond films basically try and rip off the Bourne trilogy with the way the action scenes are edited. Everyone goes on like Goldeneye is amazing. Watched it and it was shite.

The first three Bourne films are some of the best Hollywood action films ever made. The fourth one was atrocious but doesnt count.

An even better film then any of the Bonds and even the Bourne films is a danish film called Headhunters. Must see for any film fans.

Loved the first Bourne film, the second and third were boring, tedious snorefests. Kind of like the matrix trilogy.

Headhunters is amazing I agree though.

Going back to the bond films, it's not a case of not getting it, it's not hard to 'get', it's just that it isn't for me is all.

Zane Lowe has just announced that he and Radio 1 have "re-scored" Drive, and it's being shown on the BBC next week some time.

Full permission from the film company and Nicolas Winding Refn.

Can't remember the full list of artists who are contributing but Bring Me the Horizon, Biffy Cliro, the 1975, Eric Prydz, Baauer, Laura Mvula, Bastille and Foals were amongst the names. All contributing original music apparently.

A big part of me thinks that is a TERRIBLE idea. As the music in Drive is perfect. BUt I guess if done right it could at least be a interesting experiment.

I feel like they should have gone for a film without a decent score and tried to improve it, as opposed to picking a film with a brilliant soundtrack to begin with.

As for the radio 1 thing, I don't mind the idea behind it and think it could be quite fun, but they're obviously aiming for the double edged sword, they've gone for a film which relies heavily on the sound track to set the tone of the film, meaning it's incredibly hard to get right, touching a Tarantino films soundtrack would be similar, but if they did say hunger games I dont see how they could get it wrong...

It'll be polarising with most fans of radio one thinking it's awesome and most fans of drive thinking it's shite

I'd say none of the Bourne films are better than Casino Royale, even if they did come first.

I like the Bourne Films. A lot. But I'd say only the first one is amazing. The other two are just good.
