mikeyp102
Colombiana. I liked it. Yes it's far fetched, but all films like that are. Some good action shots and killings.

Ingram85
Going back to b&w/pre 80's films. If you have never seen Young Frankenstein then you can just **** off. Also, Enter the Dragon, Game of death etc..., Dawn of the Dead, Jaws, The Fog, The Italian Job, Bullitt, The Sting, Butch Cassidy & Sundance Kid, Cool Hand Luke, None of the old Westerns etc... Plus the ones already mentioned and countless more obvious one's we have missed. I find that staggering.

Ingram85
The descendants is on Channel 4 tomorrow. Watch it. Very underrated. One of the most honest and charming films despite its dour subject. I really do love this film.
Rodders
Well Snowtown was a spendidly light hearted way to follow up the villa match this evening (unrelentingly bleak study of an evil serial killer in Oz.) Could have done with some corny puns to take the edge off, I reckon. Edited October 4, 2014 by Rodders
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
You should do a cheerful Aussie double bill and watch Wake in Fright. It's on Youtube. Thank me later. (One of Nick Cave's favourite films, apparently.)

Rodders
yeah I know, was reading up about it before and afterwards. Will say the acting in it was bloody good, mind. I may leave Wake in Fright until another day :/ But will watch, Nick Cave and Aussie films have positive associations with me thanks to the Proposition so I'll definitely have to give it a shot. I have Behind the Candelabra to come up next, as an ever so slight change of note. Edited October 4, 2014 by Rodders
OutByEaster? Posted October 4, 2014 Moderator Share Posted October 4, 2014 Maybe try Ghosts of the Civil Dead on youtube. That's another cheery Australian film with a Nick Cave flavour.

maqroll
Miller's Crossing is probably my favorite film of all time. I love the Coen Brothers for making it. It is a total masterpiece. I really like some of their other films too, notably Barton Fink and Fargo. I know many people consider The Big Lebowski to be their best one. I tried to watch it a few times, but it just didn't do anything for me. I couldn't even finish it. But I recently recorded it to my DVR, so I finally watched the whole thing. And I still think the thing is massively overrated. It's a decent flick with some funny scenes, but it's kind of mediocre, especially considering what they accomplished with Miller's Crossing. But I also walked out of the theater during Saving Private Ryan, so I guess my taste in movies don't always align with the prevailing view. sonic_bouma
The descendants is on Channel 4 tomorrow. Watch it. Very underrated. One of the most honest and charming films despite its dour subject. I really do love this film. He's only got a pretty short back catalogue but Alexander Payne is one of my favourite film makers already. Such a talent. The balance he finds between humour and sadness is incredible.
Xela
Don Jon - 8/10 Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut about a man addicted to porn. The film is actually rather good (I wasn't expecting much) and stars a smoking hot Scarlett Johansson, which is always a bonus! Scarlett
troon_villan
Preferably a comedy, not too bothered about who's in it or when it was made as long as it's funny. Anyone seen anything decent at the cinema lately?

ender4
Watched Snowpiercer after a recommendation on here. It was seriously pretentious, dumb, metaphorical bulllsh*t. It made no sense, the plot was laughable. Yet somehow it was fun. 5/10.
dont_do_it_doug.
Raging bull is the best black and white film for me Also a shout out for Nosferatu I hated Raging Bull. It was just the same two scenes repeated over and over. Has fight - Argues with wife. Rinse and repeat.
