kurtsimonw
I didn't mind JP3, Lost World is really forgettable though. That gymnastics v Raptors scene is one of my least favourite in any movie ever. Worst scene in any movie ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNlmRId2FVQ I had no intention of ever watching that movie. But yes, that is horrific. wazzap24
I'm disappointed this thread isn't still only talking about GOTG. It's the best film I've ever seen. And I've been listening non stop to the soundtrack since I watched it. 'Please.... Go all the wayyy' I thought about starting one ( a thread) after seeing it as it blew me away. It's a genuinely brilliant film I feel sorry for people who will discount it (and other 'comic book' films) just because of the subject matter or 'Marvel' tag. It's a bit like people who dismiss entire genres of music/books/TV etc because of some daft illogical reason (you know the type - all 'pop' music is crap, all superhero films are for kids, popular fiction books are all badly written etc etc) I watch/read/listen to be entertained, whether that be a complex, serious piece of work or something designed to simply be fun. Entertainment comes in many guises. In this case in the form of a talking raccoon and a walking tree, and **** me was it entertaining and then some! As a slight aside, Chris Pratt is going to be a mega star and anyone who enjoyed him as star lord, should check him out in Parks and Recreation, he is one funny motherlover. This unscripted out-take being one prime example https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OQhS2q7IHQM I AM GROOT!

abdomlahor
It's still weird seeing Chris Pratt as someone women swoon over. See: season 1 of Parks and Rec... \o/ Regarding his improv, this is the best, imo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXREEVpjloo Edited August 27, 2014 by adz.villa

wazzap24
In his words 'it only takes 6 months' and you just gotta 'get after it' Yeah Chris, plus four hours a day working out and a specialised nutritionist telling you exactly what to eat and when! Ive been 'going after it' since Jan and I can safely say I do not look like he does in GOTG! Edited August 27, 2014 by wazzap24
mikeyp102
X Men first class. Enjoyed it. Better than the previous X Men films (first wasn't too bad) and the first wolverine film (haven't seen second). Set up the stories well. And some lovely women to boot.
PaulC
Just watched Chenobyl diaries. Must be one of the worst films I've ever seen.
theboyangel
Finally got around to watching Captain America: Winter Soldier - thought it was pretty decent and up there with the other recent Marvel films. My only gripe would be the plots are soooo formulaic and samey - but it's a comic book action flick, so what the hell!!!!! Certainly looking forward to Avengers
theboyangel
Some decent films on the terrestrial tellybox this weekend! Saturday: Lockout on C4 (925pm) - Sci Fi 'disengaged brain' action flick with Guy Pearce, who really hams it up! The Man In The White Suit on BBC2 (3pm) - Classic Ealing Studios film starring Alec Guinness. Marnie on BBC2 (1200am) - Hitchcock directs Sean Connery Sunday: Miss Bala on BBC4 (1010pm) - Great film about beauty queens being used as drugs mules (in Spanish) Starter For Ten on BBC2 (1030pm) - 80s set University Challenge comedy starring James McAvoy

snowychap
Really? Wolf of Wall Street 'dreadfully disappointing'? Fair enough, I bloody loved it personally. As I said I thought it was all right; I found it so disappointing because I was expecting much more. RunRickyRun
Goodfella's (1990) Just watched this and it was as good as most people have said it was in reviews i have read 8/10 Try Mean Streets, Pooligan. It's an earlier Scorsese gangster film which means there's less of a budget and it's grittier.

PieFacE Posted August 30, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted August 30, 2014 I've tried watching Enemy twice now and just can't finish. Has anyone seen it? Is it good and should I stick with it?
sonic_bouma
Watching Locke tonight. Really looking forward to it as I think Tom Hardy is the balls. Thought it was fantastic. There is a real edge to Tom Hardy which makes him incredibly watchable. To carry a film all by yourself and maintain the audiences interest is a huge ask and he knocks it out of the park. Super stuff.
mikeyp102
Guardians of the Galaxy. Decent film, not as good as some make out but decent. Some links to stars wars... Hand cut off etc... My theory, star lords father is Thane??
