PieFacE Posted January 15, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted January 15, 2014 Got Stoker on BD today. Will watch it this weekend and from the reviews here I'm really looking forward to it. Just realised that it's a long time since I watched a film now. Picked a good one to watch!

Xela
Yeah I just saw that, couldn't be bothered to really look into it though. I am thinking about watching either American Hustle or The Wolf of Wall Street tonight. How do you get to view the latest films like that? I assume not at the cinema? any helpful pointers gratefully received and appreciated (via PM if breaking site rules). Just watching Red 2 at the moment, last night I opted to watch the purge rather than the 2 I mentioned purely because it was only 90 minutes long. P.S. I don't download them, I'm not a pirate

ender4
I liked The Bourne Legacy a lot, more than i expected to. reminded me of the original Bourne Identity, and liked it better than the 2 sequels. mjmooney Posted January 15, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted January 15, 2014 Just got round to watching Cloud Atlas. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. It helped that I'd read (and loved) the book, but it really did it justice.
useless
I recently finished reading the Great Gatsby and whilst I was still in the zone I decided to watch the movie. I liked the actors, looking at it though it didn't feel like I was watching something from the 1920's I easily knew it was all recent without even thinking about it. Plus it kind of had cartoonish feel to it, that and the soundtrack made it feel completely out of wack with the book for me.

samjp26
For anybody missing any of the following from their BD collection: American Gangster Carlito's Way Casino Public Enemies Scarface http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultimate-Gangsters-2011-Blu-ray-Region/dp/B0058O9YP0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1389829951&sr=8-1&keywords=ultimate+gangsters £10.60 including free delivery, next day delivery if you have Prime. Amazon will be the death of my bank account. I was looking to purchase Scarface for around £7 on BD until I saw the set, which is worth it for Casino and Scarface alone. They're all in their original retail cases too so no need to keep the cover/box sleeve they come in. Edited January 15, 2014 by samjp26

Gangster films are on of those things that I do enjoy, but I actually rarely watch them if that makes sense. So out of the films in that box set, I've only seen American Gangster. So £10.60 well spent! cheers

Rodders
American Hustle is pretty good. A bit muddled early on. Enjoyable music unsurprisingly, and Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams are delightful. Bale is decent too, Louis CK and de Niro cameos are my favourite bits. Don't quite get the OSCAR hype about it though. An enjoyable flick, but that's about it. Edited January 16, 2014 by Rodders
