8pints
One of my heroes having a word about what's to come this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCPKyG_a-A8 I'm looking forward to The Raid 2. Godzilla may be a bit rubbish but Gareth Edwards being the director gives me some faith. Transcendence could be good. I like the visuals I've seen of Zero Theorem. (Batman the Redeemer hehe) And really looking forward to watching 12 years a Slave.

GarethRDR
Did anyone get round to watching In Fear, and was it any good? It appears to have completely slipped us by at the local Vue, when I saw the trailer a few months back it looked really promising.

It's funny you should mention that as it's my planned evening viewing having appeared somewhere this morning.

Not the most original movie, but they did the whole feeling of oncoming dread very well. Edited January 8, 2014 by Designer1
tonyh29
American Hustle tonightI've got some Wensleydale and cranberry flavour popcorn and Jennifer Lawrence ... Does it get any better than this ?
PieFacE Posted January 8, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) Fruitvale Station is decent. Not amazing tho. True story which is good, but because it's a true story it actually lacks a bit of substance. The guy who's life it's about hardly lived a spectacular life, more of a redemption story. So yeah, it's good, solid 7/10 film but nothing THAT good. Guess the main character is a good actor (the dude in the Wire) Watched Dallas Buyers Club... Matthew McConaughey is fast becoming one of my favourite actors. Killer Joe, Lincoln Lawyer, Mud and this. All fantastic films. Dallas buyers club has been one of my favourite films of the year. Definitely worth a watch. (apologies for font change, had to copy and paste his name haha) Edited January 8, 2014 by PieFacE
villa4europe
watched that Kermode thing, im really looking forward to how to train your dragon 2 and 22 jump street and obviously 12 years a slave didn't hear him mention im looking forward to - her monuments men railway man (although its reviewing badly) Planet of the apes 2 out of the furnace that coen brother music film neighbours labour day x men hobbit 3 300 2 but for my most anticipated film of the year im tied between guardians of the galaxy and captain America, I know they will be horrible big budget comic book summer blockbusters but I really don't care, think guardians will be really interesting, could be huge
leemond2008
I am looking forward to Cap America as well, the first one is easily the weakest in the franchise so far but the second one looks really good, can't wait to see Guardians of the Galaxy either. I watched that Fruitvale Station film tonight, it was pretty decent nothing spectacular and I think they should have spent a hell of a lot longer actually in the station that bit seemed to just come and go and then bang that's the end of the film. Pretty interesting reading up on the real events afterwards though, I think I only have vague memories of it to be honest, I certainly can't remember it being big news over here though
tonyh29
American Hustle tonight I've got some Wensleydale and cranberry flavour popcorn and Jennifer Lawrence ... Does it get any better than this ? Well yes it does Amy Adams cleavage ... I feel like I've been prick teased for 2 hours Great film .... Elements of Goodfellas going on but best film I've seen this year .... Probably good enough to be held up there with Casino etc in best film lists of the future .... Was Bale wearing a fat suit or did he do another of his weight gains for a role ... True dedication to his profession if he did
