Designer1 Posted January 7, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted January 7, 2014 Didn't like Drive that much! Gosling took about 10 secs to reply to everything which i found very irritating and looked like he was on Valium. Carey Mulligan was wooden which is ashame because i think she has been good in some films. To be honest Gosling was great in the early days with "The Believer", "Lars and the real girl" etc but not in this.

chrisp65
I thought Drive was excellent. Another film that allowed a bit of space, so clearly not one for the adht generation.
Stevo985 Posted January 7, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted January 7, 2014 Drive....a solid 7.5/10 watching this on I player atm 30mins in and I've barely heard anyone talk... just looking around and intense staring and awkward silence. That really doesn't matter. It's because whenever someone tried to speak.... ...so no one could get a word in edge ways. Anyway, surely no one can dislike a film that has these two songs in the soundtrack? Indeed. It's a superb film (I personally think MV's 7.5/10 is underselling it. I'd probably give it a 9, and I don't give many films a 9!) I also very much enjoyed Only God Forgives. Aint much talking in that either!

Steve McQueen has a 100% record with me so far (haven't seen any of his short movies, but his full length features have been superb). I think he's an immensely talented director.
