hogso
The original trilogy is great. Dunno about that second remake. There was also an Indian version? I think.
kurtsimonw
I need a recommendation, I am looking for a film that is similar to either Hesher or killing joe Do you mean Killer Joe? Never heard of Hesher. Bad Lieutenant might be similar. You should give Hesher a watch if you ever get the chance, really good. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is really good in it I think. Designer1 Posted September 2, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted September 2, 2013 Excellent Irish drama with a great central performance from Jack Reynor. Good story which asks some interesting moral questions. Recommended

It's also got Dane Dehaan (Lawless / Chronicle / Place Beyond the Pines) in it, who I rate very highly.

AVTuco Posted September 2, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted September 2, 2013 Now I've watched Flight and I really liked it. And I think that now, Denzel Washington is my favourite actor of all times. Flight, 8/10, Denzel Washington in Flight 9.5/10. Yesterday I watched The Good, the Bad and the Ugly again for the first time in years. I really like that film. It's the 2nd time I watched the uncut version. The cut off scenes were not that good and I can understand why they were cut off in the first place. But there's something strange with Tuco's voice in those scenes. It's like in the original cut his voice was worked with, which couldn't be done in the edited scenes. Anyone knows anything about that? Hi Pelle, I just checked this thread for the first time ever. First of all I would like to congratulate you for an excellent taste in films. I haven't seen the uncut version, but I'll try to watch it some day now that I have something interesting to look for. In which part of the film did you notice this strangeness in Tuco's voice? theboyangel
Anyone seen Pusher with Geoff from Coupling in it? Is it much cop? Not as good as the original and somewhat lacking to be honest. Geoff from Coupling is pretty good in it but overall the film didn't quite work for me... (soundtrack was bloody loud as well, compared to the dialogue!?!??!) donnie
The master - 7 out of 10. Don't know what to think really. It was well made and acted but not sure if I liked it or not. Chinatown - 7 out of 10. I know it's a classic but found it boring to be honest. Network - 8.5 out of 10. Classic. Brilliant movie. Kick ass - 7 out of 10. Really enjoyed it considering I normally hate these type of films. Life of pi - 7.5 out of 10. Loved it. Better then castaway maybe not but still very good Valhalla rising - 1 out of 10 woeful. Especially considering the director.

His voice was a little strange in the scenes that were cut in the original version. The one I remember most is when he meets up with the three brothers who helps him to catch Blondie in the hotel room. Another of those scenes is when they take a short rest in a dixie camp. There are a few and I don't really remember them all. Those scenes doesn't add much to the story, but it makes it a little longer and that film can never be too long.

tonyh29
Watched 42 on a plane the other day but even allowing for the "airline formatting" it was enjoyable enough , even though I'm not a huge fan of baseball ... the black man against all the odds story has been done before and much better though ( yeah I know it's a true story ) also watched The Place Beyond the Pines .... was a bit long and never really got going enough for my liking .... I like Gosling and I thought the cast was pretty decent .. but it's no Departed or We Own the night which it seems to fancy itself alongside ( though the storylines are of course different )

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
We Own The Night was possibly the dullest cinema experience of my life. That film never got off the ground. BTW, if ever there was a film worthy of 10/10, it's Chinatown. I'd argue The Master too.
