limpid Posted October 4, 2006 Administrator Share Posted October 4, 2006 I wish you'd install hitsmode so we can see you pressing your button. Funny to see Low Health (1949) though. Right. Tonight when the raid falls apart, can we a) go to scholo for my q and get my carrot?

The_Rev
Deathwing is down for 36 hours. There are 100 level one trolls in Orgrimmar. I think we have visitors.
The_Rev
Kaja is off the mark! Standing over a druid, twice her level might i add, Kaja scores her first ever HK by punching an Alliance so hard in the face it just fell over and died. And check that whisper. Three guesses what it was about..
Sie
I despair at the stupidity of some players on this game.

The_Rev
Now i know you have always wondered this. Whats better in a fight? Two planks of wood with a nail through each, which can be bought from a vendor near where Dan and Riss were born, or an epic sword and epic flower? only one way to find out! Juju
50 Silver Riss? I started out this game yesterday with about 50-55 gold. I'd incidentally hit 225 enchanting, and needed to get to the trainer. I mention casually to the GM that I've got there to which his reply is "Great - lets go to Ulderman" - so a quick race to the ah for materials. If yo have done enchanting, you know you can enterulderman maxed at 225, but need to level to 250 before you leave to learn all the available recipies. And now, I have enchanting at skill level 253. And 38 silver. And a l39 character who is roughly 90g short of a mount.
The_Rev
You dont need a mount, you are a Dr00d!
maxjackle
Right- I have a level 8 paladin on the lightbringer server so I can play with my brother whos on there. Im going to create a horde character on yours- but what is a good race. Ive found out a lot of people don't rate paladins (but they are quite good initially for solo play). What should I be? A priest or a mage? JuJu thanks for the pm.
ED
Vael from a rogue pov God I love that fight, I'm the only rogue that doesnt backstab there, because I don't have a dagger, but I'm still miles ahead of any casters in damage output, you can see from the vid I did close to 600 dps in full FR gear. Meanwhile, some other rogues tried it with no FR, and seemed to survive. Tarj, reckon itd be a burden on the healers for all the rogues to fulfull their dreams and go all out dps on vael? The_Rev
What do you want to do? Damage? Heal? You can break your "job" in WoW down to three basic areas. Tanking: You are there to take damage. You are the meat sheild that stands between the monsters and your mates. You wont be doing an amazing amount of damage but thats not your job. You just hold things up while other people kill them. People who can do a lot of damage generally cant take a lot of damage. Keeping them alive is important. Healing: Keeping the tanks alive. Of course, you have to heal yourself and the Damage Dealers. Whether thats by casting spells on them that give them life back, or by giving them "buffs" to make them more powerful, or casting shields and the like on them so they dont take damage in the first place. Damage Dealing: Generally known as DPS (damage per second). You are largely responsible for killing the stuff that the Tanks and Healers are keeping away from you. Now going through each class one by one: official website page * Druid - can do everything. Shapeshifts into different forms. Melee damage, Magical damage, Tanking, Healing. Just not as good as those who specialise in it. The theory is that the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. The reality is that you will probably end up healing at level 60. * Hunter Ranged physical damage dealers. Very good soloing class. * Mage Massive damage dealers, both up close and at range (though its better to stay at range because of low survivability) to single targets and multiple targets. Probably the best out and out damage dealers in the game. * Paladin The defensive class. Alliance only (for the time being) very low damage dealing abilities, but awesome survivability. They just dont die. Spend a lot of time buffing and healing others. * Priest Best healers in the game? Yep. But then if you want, you can just turn into a face melting killing machine. It will cost you a few gold every time you do it, and everyone will tell you to stop fighting and start healing whenever you do it. * Rogue They are the melee version of the mage i guess. Can walk around without being seen, and can do vicious damage to single targets. * Shaman Horde only. Not a million miles from a Druid i guess. Though more magical oriented. Can heal and Damage with the best of em though. Jack of all trades. A support class who are there to make others lives easier. * Warlock I could go on for ages about these, as i play one. But generally, ranged damage and utility. Less out and out damage than a mage, but (arguably) more survivability. Certainly outside of groups. * Warrior Kings of the melee fight. There to stand toe to toe with anything and probably hammer the shit out of it. Capable of massive damage, but generally asked to tank pushing survivability ahead of dps capability. Of course, these are sweeping generalisations of every class and just my general opinion. Each class has a thing called "talent points" which enable you to specialise in an area of the game. Some enable you shine in groups, at killing computer controlled monsters, at killing other player controlled characters, at dealing damage, at healing, at crowd control (etc etc) which enables many different playstyles within the class. Of course, some classes will always be better at certain things that others and you will be under a certain ammount of pressure to take your character in the direction your class can truly shine. But you dont have to. Its all about freedom.
