Villarevolution2007
Wasn't sure i saw a post looking over the season so far to see peoples views of how the campaign is going, please remove mods if i havent done this right. Some questions i think we should ask as fans to ourselves, our teams, the FA and the Premier League: 'Respect' campaign can it be called successful yet? Was and is it the correct idea for the FA to introduce the campaign as an attempt to make officials jobs easier ? It is just over half way through the season and what can be perceived by fans and clubs as being successful so far, if anything? Do you think all clubs have adhered to the idea the campaign has set, and what punishments should be introduced to ensure this is enforced? Last question... can this campaign be made any more successful than it is, and any suggestions on how this can be done?
Bazdavies79
Pointless, nothing has changed.
sellyoakvilla
No too many players are waving imaginary cards in the air when there's a foul and it **** pisses me off. Behrami or whatever his name is did it today for West Ham v Fulham. Pisses me off they should get carded for that alone.
Ryan.
It's not been a sucess and never will because refs can never please everyone.
Chindie Posted January 18, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted January 18, 2009 Wayne Rooney, a week ago, screaming at the linesman. An example of why it hasn't done a thing. Yup in that case the officials were wrong, but it's not very respectful is it? It won't happen, because refs won't be given the backing to say to anyone (no matter who they are) that they will be carded/reprimanded, whatever, for having a go at the refs, because a few clubs have too much power. Phumfeinz
Haha. I love Zat's speech bubble. And is it just me or does the ref look like he's biting Curtis' hand? As for the discussion, it hasn't worked and it won't until the refs are consistently solid. Which won't ever happen.
ClaretCarrot
Waste of time and money. Phil Brown and Joe Kinnear seem to be moaning more and more about refs every week - doesn't exactly set a great example
VillaChris
Initally it was a little bit but just same old for the last few months. Did anyone see the Boro players mobbing the ref after he sent off Digard at West Brom? Disgraceful.
ChrisVillan
Pointless. It all stems from shit refereeing, and that is not fixed by crying about dissent.

Artetasgirl Posted January 19, 2009 Visiting Supporter Share Posted January 19, 2009 To get respect you have to earn it, not start a stupid campaign. It was doomed to failure from the start, in my opinion.
chrissmith921
Given they have no measures to determine whether it is a success or not, I'll bet they proclaim it to be a huge success when its reviewed in 18 months time. Of course, by then the situation would have convieniently reset itself.
Mozzavfc
i feel that nothing has changed until cards are given out for arguing at the ref, cant see it stopping
