I rarely throw much criticism at referees (although I’m saying this so often now that perhaps it just isn’t true) but that was an appalling showing. I can accept refs get things wrong and I don’t buy into any stupid bribery / corruption / conspiracy theories, I just believe in ability and confidence to referee. This referee lacked both. That was a shocking performance at the highest level of the game. I found some of his calls literally unbelievable. He just bottled everything. He had no grasp on the game at all. Wtf is he doing at this level.
