Wow. Emery, you genius. Absolute masterclass. Could have been 6, probably should have been 4 but for shit refereeing.

Aside from the first 15 or so minutes while we were getting used to the surface, we absolutely dominated. (having played on this type of pitch it definitely takes a good 20 minutes to get used to it when you're used to playing on another surface so I've every sympathy for the players)

We're back! And it feels amazing.

Now the moan...That referral for a handball makes an absolute farce of the ruling. How they can refer that to the ref but not the Watkins ones? If they asked the ref to view the whole passage and determine if there was a different phase of play then maybe understandable, but they only showed him the ball hitting Onana's hand.

It's amazing how the standard of refereeing is so poor in football these days.

That aside, the right decision per the terrible rules for Watkins disallowed goal.

No need to bring the Irish into this!

So proud of the lads. MOTM to Tielemans but that is so unfair on Rodgers and Ramsey who were on fire all match. A frightening glimpse (for other clubs) of how good they can become.

There will be tougher challenges of course but that is a very important first step executed with skill and competence.

Well done you Villa boys!

worried for little emi coming on to concrete with some fuzz glued on top.  But he did incredibly well.  worked a trick with SJM in the corner.  later he got kicked in the ankle behind the play but got up and made himself dangerous in the attack immediately.  Can't wait to see more of his creativity and drive in our attack.
