Champions League football, ? 42 years ? It’s like riding a bike, you never forget!

Just about how we might've expected that to go. Great start to the tournament. Sadly, the opposition and their joke of a playing surface made the occasion fall somewhat short in terms of how a Champions League match should feel, especially our very first one. To their credit, their ultra section was lively right up to the final whistle, but on the whole, it felt more like Europa Conference.

All that will change vs Bayern at VP though!

Even though it was 3-0 the two disallowed goals still bugging me. 5-0 would be a real statement win on our return to the top of European competition.

I know the decisions were close but a bit of common sense needed sometimes. Clear and obvious error for the first? No, and Onana's handball was almost so far back he was wearing an Everton shirt.

Have to say that pitch was a disgrace. The fact that Uefa allow such a pitch in Champions League football is pretty poor.

Hope they are not too knackered. Unai needs to really rotate the squad with these games. Thought Buendia, Maatsen came on far too late but absolutely thrilled for the first win. Let's hope they can recover for Wolves.
