Dillon66 Posted Monday at 13:07 Share Posted Monday at 13:07 Devastating news - a true Villa legend. Supporter, player, coach and pundit - claret and blue through and through and will be most sadly missed. A hero of mine, growing up. RIP HEITS

YLN Posted Monday at 13:08 Share Posted Monday at 13:08 63 years old. I assumed he was older because he's from a time before I followed Villa. To put it in context from my era of players, Colin Calderwood is 59 now. Tragic accident

sidcow Posted Monday at 13:16 VT Supporter Share Posted Monday at 13:16 Oh shit. I'd hoped with yesterday's false alarm he might make it through. I've had the pleasure of seeing him play at Villa Park but after his injury unfortunately so never saw his best live. Rest in Peace Gary. A true legend.
mottaloo Posted Monday at 13:19 Share Posted Monday at 13:19 Hated him cos all the teenage girls my age fancied him, meaning this spotty 16yr old oik had no chance with them. But loved him more for all the times he sent me surge-tumbling down the holte as I celebrated another of his goals. When you got the ball, you were bound to score....Gary, Gary Shaw. HEITS. RIP.
Popular Post sheepyvillian Posted Monday at 13:19 Popular Post Share Posted Monday at 13:19 (edited) I just had a winner on the horses and then I'm met with this totally heart breaking news. This ain't right! He was using the White Horse pub in Harborne, he gave, someone I knew, a signed framed photo of the European Cup winning side, I actually mentioned it on here not too long back. How I remember that wonderful golden head of hair, the panther like movement, even the little things, like having the cuffs of his top pulled over his hands. You were a legend Gary, who gave me some of the most cherished memories of my life. I'm sure the other ex Villans who we've, sadly, lost, will be there to embrace you once again. RIP Legend. Leeroy Posted Monday at 13:20 Share Posted Monday at 13:20 Just 63 years old, how sad. Was an insane talent as a 21 year old and surely would have become an England regular if it hadn’t been for injury. HEITS
Eastie Posted Monday at 13:21 Share Posted Monday at 13:21 In an era where the word legend is bandied about too often Gary was true villa legend - a fantastic player who I was very lucky to watch in a fabulous team , RIP Gary

kidlewis Posted Monday at 13:23 Share Posted Monday at 13:23 An absolute villa legend, too young to see him play IRL but a well known legend even for generations after he stopped playing. HEITS

avfc1982am Posted Monday at 13:34 Share Posted Monday at 13:34 You cannot mention 80/81, 82 and the glory years without mentioning Gary Shaw. One of the Country's top young strikers, an Aston Villa LEGEND. I was lucky to see him play live regularly during those glorious times as a fanatical Villa kid growing up. The greatest time to be a Villa fan imo. RIP Hero.
Popular Post villanmac Posted Monday at 13:35 Popular Post Share Posted Monday at 13:35 PFA young player of the year European Young Footballer of the Year. European Cup winner. Even had Maradona looking for him after a game to swap shirts Aside from that a lovely bloke by all accounts of those who met him. Makes you realise who overused the word legend is when you put into the context of guys like him. So sad.
