Villa87 Posted Saturday at 15:29 Share Posted Saturday at 15:29 Surprised no Ned over Bogarde, but it gives him experience if we need to rely on him. Watkins needs to have a good game to get his confidence up! Duran chomping at the bit! Good to see Philogene and Carlos back for squad depth. East London Villa Posted Saturday at 15:29 Share Posted Saturday at 15:29 I think we have to trust Emery with the continued Bogarde selection. He clearly sees something in training and a player that we can develop into a much more valuable one for his squad for the next few years or for trading profit in future. Let's not forget we have a Champions League away game on Tuesday, which Nedeljkovic may well start.

I think he actually rates Bogarde. We haven't seen much of either in the PL so far,but my eye test tells me Bogarde is much more willing to drive forward and make the incisive pass that can cut open a low block. Against Leicester, he tried but his end product was awful. Hopefully that has improved over another 2 weeks of training.

But then again I was one of the few impressed with his performance last game.

NoelVilla Posted Saturday at 15:34 Share Posted Saturday at 15:34 Bogarde getting the chance to get it right. It's a positive thing. I like it.
DCJonah Posted Saturday at 15:35 Share Posted Saturday at 15:35 Hopefully we have enough but Mcginn and Bogarde on that right seems weak to me. Surprised Duran didn't get his chance and save Watkins for champs league

Strange choice that. Otherwise good team. Bogarde is likely viewed as better on the ball/passing ability. He can step into midfield a bit better than Ned perhaps. East London Villa Posted Saturday at 15:40 Share Posted Saturday at 15:40 The other thing we should consider is since Leicester, Bogarde has had more time on the training pitch with Emery. Nedeljkovic went away with Serbia, which is fantastic for him in general, but if he's still finding his way in our system then he's no closer than he was 2 weeks ago. Hopefully it was down to nerves and the experience plus the faith Unai is showing in him will do him a world of good.
UpTheVilla26 Posted Saturday at 15:43 Share Posted Saturday at 15:43 Hopefully we can grab an early goal as their mentality looks shot as soon as they go behind. Lovely to see JJ starting.

rodders0223 Posted Saturday at 15:55 Share Posted Saturday at 15:55 Everton out for the warm up 45 mins before kick off and it's just the biggest rondos you've ever seen. All very odd.

UpTheVilla26 Posted Saturday at 16:03 Share Posted Saturday at 16:03 Their fans think they are gonna get battered on their forum. Seems they think the defence, especially Keane and Young, are a huge problem. Let's hope they are right as I'm getting a bit nervous now
