It's Your Round
Away at Wycombe, at least the facilities should be decent.
The Fun Factory
Chelsea, playing in the conference leagye and not protected in the draw get Barrow at home. You just know if we were playing in the conference we would have got a bastard of a draw.
VillaChris
Played Wycombe away twice in the 2000s, one ended 6-4 or something.
S-Platt Posted August 28 VT Supporter Share Posted August 28 Should have been 3 at home 3 away if they had to do it that way. Why 4 and 2 is ridiculous. Happy with the draw but still a big con.
sheepyvillian
Do Wycombe still play the Charles Hughes philosophy of football?

This is thanks to europa competitions now spreading fixtures over two consecutive midweeks at the point this round gets played. Oh ok, why don't they split the qualifying teams into two pots with the big 6 going in pot 1 and alternate the pick so that there is a chance that all 6 teams could be drawn away. MrBlack
Annoyed we got an away draw, but not at all surprised. I expect wholesale changes for the game given the opposition, and if we don't get through then so be it. It would be nice to progress to a point where we can start taking it seriously, but at that stage of the season it can't really be a priority. They drew the respective home/away positions of the teams out of bowl before the main draw. It was as random and fair as possible for it to be with the need to keep them separate.

Pongo Waring
Newcastle put out a very strong side. Forrest made 10 changes. Why didn't Forest go for it. they would of won!

Happy with the draw but still a big con. That would have scripted the fact that half of them have to be home and half away though. The randomness of a draw wouldn't mean that happens and hence they drew whether they were home or away as well. Ire needs to be targeted at Uefa for spreading and expanding their tournaments rather than the faff we had to do to make a fair attempt at a draw.

I know it's random but I'd love to see the respective difficulty of third round draws that those teams have faced over the years compared with us. Obviously we've got Man Utd away most seasons but that's as easy a fixture for them as it's likely to be thanks to their weird historic jinx over us. Emery is half way there to dispelling it thankfully.
