First half summary: Villa should have had a penalty and West Ham should not. Stuart Attwell is on VAR. Football must have started again.

Same shit different year.

But the reason given by VAR was that he made no attempt to play the ball... so do you think Cash didn't attempt to play the ball?

Well, I mean he did kick the ball, not sure if kicking the ball counts as attempting to play it. Did VAR get confused about which player was which?

It isn't a penalty, it isn't a mistake he isn't playing anyone onside.

The lad has done nothing wrong this game.

That’s a penalty. Even if he touches the ball, he takes the man down.

Getting the ball first does not mean it isn't a foul and never has

Irrelevant if there is no possibility of injuring the opponent or any malicious intent. Cash went to play the ball and got it. The VAR said he didn't attempt to play the ball which is absolutely **** ludicrous

the "i got a touch" hasn't been a defence for several years now if you also go through the guy. Not sure why it's been given so much credence here.

He don’t go through him

Never a penalty, and the VAR explanation is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard all week, and I’m married.

*Never not a penalty (FFS!)

VAR gone from over officiating to under officiating.
