PaulC
I really don't know but definitely not Potter. Very overrated manager. Lampard wouid do better because at least he's knows what it's all about and wouldn't be as defensive as Soithgate
tomav84 Posted July 14 VT Supporter Share Posted July 14 we can want who we like, but it will be one of gerrard, lampard, or rooney
villan95
Howe wouldn't be bad but you'd possibly have to wait until Newcastle sack him. Not keen on Potter. Not against a foreign manager but a lot of people will be so they will always be up against it. Maybe Pochettino if I had to pick a realistic one. Overall very uninspiring. Maybe throw a curve ball in there like Mark Robins or Kieran McKenna? Edited July 14 by villan95
UpTheVilla26
I think it is a shame Wenger isn't a few years younger. Other than that, no one I can think of fills me with much more hope than Southgate.

Not a great amount of choices out there I did not want to add that scoundrel gerrard There is no way FA is going to rehire Big Sam, so you can stroke him off. Rafa is not English, and lately not very good either, so no chance Other potential candidates would be; McKenna, O’Neil, Dyche and possibly Cooper (Welch, but have managed England youth teams.) Reivax_Villa
Howe or Poch.. Howe deserves it, worked his way up the football pyramid and is a good coach and will definitely have England playing more attacking.. A good backroom team will help him with game management.
villaglint
Don’t see Howe walking out on Newcastle for England. Difficult to see many good options.
Stevo985 Posted July 14 VT Supporter Share Posted July 14 Unfortunately the England job is below good premier league managers. So I dont think managers like Potter or Howe would take it
CarryOnVilla
I have a hunch it be Frank Lampard. No idea why, just a feeling
Starscrem_Prime Posted July 14 VT Supporter Share Posted July 14 Voted Potter but I've had like half a bottle of cinnamon whisky, so idk.
foreveryoung
We ain't getting anyone flash. So I think Potter is the man. Wouldn't be suprised if the FA have already had a chat. He's turned down some decent jobs lately.
Tomaszk
I think Lampard might be OK. Sherwood would have just won that Euros with this England squad and he's better than him.
