Onana isn't the Luiz replacement on the pitch - I think that was Tielemans, if we have to actually have a replacment. Onana is the Dendoncker upgrade - the type of player we need but didn't really have. Like the potential loss of Diaby - my guess is that they saw him as a RW/10 in the squad - but with Rogers coming in, his profile (age, English, height, power, pace) and his rapid progression, plus with Philogene coming back, we now have a saleable asset who is surplus (saleable assets tend to be pretty good).
