He did go to ground and basically campaigned the entire election in his seat whilst chucking his own money at it. At least he is one of the more sane tories left but I can't see him being the next leader.

He's got a way to go to even get that. The Duke Of Wellington has the lowest ever vote share for the Tories with 29% in 1832. 

Sunak's getting nowhere near that.
