Interesting but He’s kinda irrelevant now though isn’t he ?

He is, but as are most individual MPs and arguably he'll be more of a thorn in Starmer's side than most in parliament, if only because it'll rankle the right of the Labour party if he keeps his seat.

Also for me it's interesting almost purely because it shows how good of a local MP he's been that it's even being talked about as close.

Disappointing to see Reform picking up a big vote share, but it looks like being a jolly old volley to the Tories which is great fun.

The losing Tory MP in Swindon spitting fire.

why didn’t they campaign like this

Suggests if the Tory’s move right as expected with someone like Braverman taking over you could see the Tory internal fighting going for a while , might see off Reform but a the cost of the moderate wing of the party

Buckland following up his concession speech in Swindon with a tirade against his own party , seems really angry

Pretty much spot on. Said a lurch to the right would send them over the abyss.

BBC just commenting on how angry a normally mild mannered man was.

Because spitting fire at your own party isn't normally conducive to staying in situ?

Then again, maybe the time to say those things was, I dunno, anytime in the last ten years when they were busy turning into UKIP and he was braying along with the rest of them.

Seems a bit horse / stable door now.

This is always the lull bit. It usually picks up after 1. Needs some more results to finally put me at ease.

At ease? What exactly do you think isn't certain already?
