Just for amusement

11 constituencies. What links them?

  • Arundel and South Downs
  • Christchurch
  • Hamble Valley
  • Kingswinford and South Staffordshire
  • Maldon
  • New Forest East
  • North East Hampshire
  • North West Essex
  • Sevenoaks
  • South Shropshire
  • Weald of Kent

I'd assume the only 11 seats that all the MRP projections agree will stay Tory.

Chicken dinner!

By way of contrast, there are 335 seats where they all agree about Labour and 21 for the LibDems

It really is sill season in the polling now :D

Champagne socialists are alive and well in 2024.

Will a sherry-laden trifle have the same vote breakdown  as sherry drinker though?

Somebody needs to inform @tonyh29 about the big Labour lead among shandy drinkers.

Load of bollocks though, isn't it

Totally.

I do think Labour have taken the wrong approach to this policy.

They’re closing a loophole where these private schools are eligible for charitable status…all they have to do when someone asks a question about this is say “are these schools charities or businesses?”

You boy, stop laughing, it's really not funny....

Feels a bit like Brexit where we can’t do anything because of the EU (lies).
The ECHR the new EU then.

Playing devils advocate here...

I it were true then what does that say about Starmer (he was a human rights lawyer) and the fact that labour have been banging on about this for years?

You would have thought someone would have checked before they comitted to this policy....

Not only does it fail common sense - the right to an education does not mean the right to be untaxed on private education. Or, indeed, a right to private education at all.

Furthermore, let's start looking at some of the other rights. The right to a fair trial.. Legal fees are subject to vat.

It's absolute bullshit.

I agree that private/public school fees are not subject to VAT appears to be an anomaly and needs addressing.

However!........ it is interesting that private medical care is not subject to VAT provided that treatment carried out is by a registered professional...

So....if you decide to have private education by registered professionals, then isn't that the same conditions?, and therefore not subject to VAT!

Or have I tied myself in knots?.......again!
