sne
Bit of missed opportunity since Weston McKennie is apparently a huge Harry Potter fan. Think what fun we could have had with him presenting the kit to Dobbin and what not. Would have been wizard.

It also highlights the obvious problem in that next season (and every season for the next 5 years) we start the season with a £2m loss from this player but we long ago spent the original £10m that we brought in. So this ‘clever accounting’ player goes from being an £8m boon on our books to a £2m ball and chain for every future season. Then we add the other ball and chain ‘clever accounting’ swaps we’re lining up and suddenly we have crippled ourselves for future transfer windows. The amortisation FFP trick is really just a form of ‘kicking the can down the road’ and hoping we can increase revenue before the music stops. edit. Changed my mind, now agree with you. The £2m ball and chain is exactly why Heck is tasked with growing revenues to £400m pa. If revenues remained static, these tactics would eventually result in a stagnant squad other than what @tezzaleed notes here. Others have said it, but these swaps will only happen when both teams are willing to let a player go and want to earn some value on the books, to satisfy PSR. It's clever, but I don't think it helps football especially well, mostly because the lower levels of the pyramid will have less access to the talents that would traditionally drop out of the top league. I can see it being flagged as anti-competitive in time, but I also suspect that will be the same moment that PSR is ripped up too. Heck and Co must be confident that our revenue is growing to the point this won't be an issue for a long time. And as the team get's better under Emery we will see player sales as some of the first teamers are replaced with better players.

MaVilla
rather than Timmy for 9m and Dobbin for 9m, why cant we just do: Timmy - 10m, Archer - 20m, Hayden - 10m, Chambers & Hause - BTGTF (buy three, get two free) = 40m Onana - 40m.
