I have a feeling this kid is going to end up being one of our better signings from this window.

My issue is that I look through our signings so far this summer and pretty much say the same thing about every one of them....  I think we've done some really excellent business.

Skramz is a colloquial term for the emotional hardcore or screamo sub genres of hardcore punk, specifically from the mid 90s to early 00s. Orchid, Saetia, Jeromes Dream, Pg. 99 et al. The scene was synonymous with geek culture and if you sported a Spock haircut around that time, chances were you were into skramz. Some of the more experimental bands of the time leaned quite heavily into geekdom and sci fi, The Locust, In/Humanity, Crom and gasp being good examples.

Bloody hell. I listen to stuff adjacent to that ilk, the likes of Fugazi and Dinosaur Jr and Thrice, and I’ve never heard of scramz or any of the bands you’ve listed!

Getting way off topic but skramz is just a slang term for screamo which I'm sure you've heard before (probably used incorrectly). People just use it to refer to any band that uses screaming vocals when it's really its own unique genre, and honestly all the bands @hogso mentioned rule, and Enzo definitely looks like a screamo drummer 😂

Number 5 is a DM in South American football

What I loved most about the interview is how much he spoke about Villa first rather than himself.  What are your aims for the season?  To achieve the club's ambitions.  What do you bring?  Hard work, helping the team.  He seems to have that steely determination and confidence that means he doesn't feel the need to big himself up.  He just came across as the kind of guy you want in your team.

he’s a grafter from I’ve seen of him.

mops up the mess, puts out fires, keeps possession moving. DM donkey work and he’s great at it.

You're right.  But he's more than "just" a grafter (although I know you didn't mean it in a negative way).  He seems to have a really good footballing brain - which is why I think he's good at predicting where the fires will be and also good at keeping the ball moving.  Just looks like one of those players who is 2 or 3 seconds ahead of game.  Without going too OTT that's why McGrath was so good - he already knew where the ball (or the player he was marking) was going.

Oh god no I wasn’t saying in a bad way,  “blue collar worker” might be a better term. To be a good Dm you need to be one of the smartest players on the pitch. As you say, you gotta work out where a fire is starting to put it out. he’s really good at it. He’s just walking/jogging around all match, but some how is there when trouble is happening. Mind reading stuff

There's definitely lineage from the bands you mention, chiefly the likes of Rites of Spring and Embrace (not that one). If you're down the Villa this season, look out for me doing my best Enzo impression:

Or maybe it will be @Keyblade

Personally I can't pull off the Enzo look I'll be taking the Ian Maatsen cut to VP one day.

But man I kinda miss the early 10's when there were distinct subcultures but I guess the fact that stereotypes regularly got made fun of like on this site (I can't remember what it was called) led people to retreat into their shells and everyone just kinda dresses and act the same now.

Enzo doesn't look anything like a scramz/screamo/emo guy. Too much polish and nice jewellry.

He needs messier hair. Glasses. Black skinny jeans + Vans. And an Orchid shirt.

Possibly going out on loan.

Interesting, as currently i think we only have 4 specialist central midfielders in Onana, Tielemans, Barkley and Barrenechea, so we are going down to 3?

(i dont consider McGinn a CM in Emery;s style tbh).

Emery would defo play Mcginn ahead of Barrenechea in CM position. Plus there's still Dendonker who nobody is interested in by the looks of it.

I’m not feeling a loan.
He was in the training video from yesterday (Carlos wasn’t). and he’s been playing well in preseason.

probably ill, moving in somewhere, or just not selected

maybe, but if McGinn is even a semi regular starter in central midfield for us, i think we have an issue, he doesnt have the technical ability of a Kamara, Luiz etc.

Neither does Enzo. Not many midfielders do tbh.
