So its probably duran asking for ridiculous wages that is holding this up.

Chelsea will stick to their 35mill valuation of maatsen so i think deal will probably be maatsen + 5mill for Duran.

So for the equivalent of Duran we get Maasten and Barkley…happy days

He’s too busy liking Chelsea tweets, on the 3 or so dif phones he carries:

Maybe his agent is taking multiple calls with all the interest he is getting:

Or maybe he has a team of them:

So if he's included in a swap for Duran, are we up £40m with PSR or what?

It's a 'swap' in words only. Chelsea will give us £40m cash for Duran on the basis that we give them £35m cash for Maatsen.

We'd still owe about £10mil on Duran plus potentially some of the add-on fees, so worst case scenario say we are down £15mil if Duran goes.

Then we bring in £40mil for him so we're £25mil up.

Then we spend £35mil on a player on a 5 year deal, so this year it only costs £7mil.

Overall PSR balance of +£18mil, maybe more if my £15mil was too pessimistic.

We'd still need to strike another deal to get over the PSR line I imagine.

Honestly don't think anyone knows

from my knowledge if it was a 40m deal giving Maatsan a 5 year deal and Duran cost 17.5m on a 5 year deal, which is around the right thing then my calcs are as follows:

selling value: 40m

Cost on books: 13m (17.5 x 4/5)

Duran profit: 27m

Purchase: 40m

Cost for this season: 8m (40m / 5)

PSR profit for this year: 19m

Can't see both Digne & Moreno leaving this summer so I'm a bit confused by this one if we're getting Iling Jnr as part of the Luiz deal - although I see Iling Jnr as more of a Winger than a fullback.

We also have some young fullbacks in the youth/reserves.

I haven't seen enough of Maatsen defensively to give much of an opinion on him but he seems like he'll be more of an attacking fullback too.

Would we sign both this summer?

I can see us selling both, yes. We also have at least 2 centre halves who can play LB.

I'd personally keep Digne with Maatsen for a year, let Unai find Iling's best place in the team.  If it turns out to be left back, then let Digne go in January or the summer.  I wouldn't keep Moreno instead of Digne largely because of his recent injury record.

Just want this one done as i have a feelibg someone else will come in for him later in the window.

Just really **** shit we have to wait to sign a player before we can bid. While other clubs dpend like no tomorrow yet nothing happens to them

‘Cost for this season’ would not really touch 30th June this year  as it’s amortised monthly in the accounts as the contract is incurred
