villa4europe
The thing is as well is that you won't be able to judge this kid by his price tag We're going to pay a number that reflects the FFP game we are playing with juve

So Juve fans wanted him gone and were saying he was rubbish?

Cash having a nibble in November meant he was out for two months or so but generally their results are better with him starting.

Yes and he cost Spurs only 20m. Absolute bargain. Bentancur is there best midfielder don't even think it's a debate for Spurs fans. Italian football is different to Premier League, some players better suited to the different Leagues. You need to be athletic and physical in the PL

VillaChris
Just now, Tayls said: But he played very little the season before? Seemed to all be about Kulusevski… He did his ACL at Leicester in the Feb just before Conte blew up and they had the poor end to the season. Was on 31 games and 6 goals at that point. I think we actually targeted him in the Jan 2022 window to replace Luiz so that didn't happen and we effectively got two more years out of Doug.
Popular Post Keyblade
He plays like how Jaden Philogene played when he was still called Jaden Philogene-Bidace.
useless
When we sold Philogene he wasn't as highly rated then as he is now after his good season with Hull, and he wasn't as highly rated as Iling Jr is now or has been for a number of years. Signing Iling Jr is basically the equivalent of signng a Chukwuemeka or Bynoe-Gittens level player, thinking in terms of players his age in the England set-up. Remember Iling Jr is getting a move to a Championship league club at the same age Philogene was getting a move to a Championship club, he was also playing in Serie A, Champions League, and Europa League, whilst Philogene was on loan at Cardiff
Aston_Villan4
How would this signing work from a homegrown standpoint? Would we be able to count him as a homegrown player since he was at the Chelsea academy?
Popular Post Indigo
Seeing a good amount of folk bemoaning the move because he's "only" made 40-odd appearances for the Juventus first team and "only" scored a couple of goals, but I feel like there's some perspective needed given he's only turned 20 years old this season. In the grand scheme of things nearly 50 games for even an underperforming Juve side, especially as a foreign player isn't exactly something to turn your nose up at and suggests there's at least a lot to work with here. For the sake of comparison we all love Ramsey, yet at the same age he had played for Villa roughly 20 times without exactly having made his mark yet.

We need players that have been with us for 3 years before they turn 21 to be able to expand the European squad size. We already have plenty of home grown to cap out that limit.
