Everyone fire up the taek machine for the quarterfinals! (Might not be wrong tho) In the same way that the USA have never produced an outstanding footballer...

PaulC
Good to see Lampard mention the Platt goal against Belgium as his iconic England goal.

UpTheVilla26
Surely we must have used the least of our squad out of every team in the Tournament. Ridiculous. He's relying on a magic moment again by picking the same players, in the same formation, that has not worked for 4 games. We've got to the QF by having a group, which let's face it, was the easiest one and then getting lucky against Slovakia. If Switzerland are on it and go at us, we are out today.

Look, if France can get to the semi-finals without scoring a goal in open play, then Southgate must think theres a chance of at least one magic moment for England, fingers, toes, legs, arms crossed and all that

We have stunk the tournament out with our anti football. We have some great players on the bench, but yeah, Southgate is relying on a moment of magic from on of his favourites so he can be vindicated for persevering with them. I don't know why we bother with a squad TBH!
switters
If we're going 3-4-3 with Saka left, I cannot understand how Trippier is the RWB choice over Alexander-Arnold. Trippier just offers so much less with the ball (other than set pieces) and isn't all that reliable defensively either. Saka LWB seems borne of desperation from odd squad selection rather than a real plan but have to hope he'll give us more dynamism on that side. Just worry that we're looking at having Konsa/Saka combi there defensively when neither of them play in that role normally. seems primed for misunderstandings against Swiss team who have good movement up front

foreveryoung
According to Trippier, Southgate is great and he gives them freedom to play. So the players are under performing? Or the system is holding you back. which is it Tripps??

VillaChris
So despite all the media hype it's basically the same team and formation bar Kons coming in.
